**Overview**

**Are you looking for an exciting opportunity at the heart of an ambitious fusion energy project?** Join our Assembly and Commissioning Support Division (ACSD) within the Engineering Service Department (ESD) as an Assembly Engineer.

As an **Mechanical** Engineer** - Assembly**,** your goals will include:

- Performing and managing assembly/construction related activities for the scope of activity, allowing all stakeholders to perform work in a safe and qualitative manner, within the assigned budget and schedule.
- Resolving potential safety, quality, or technical issues in a timely manner.
- Ensuring deliverables are produced according to project schedule and budget, within a quality-assured environment that requires rigor and a systematic way of working.
- Developing, under the leadership of your discipline manager, your skills and experience for the benefit of the Project.
- The ESD provides the required skilled engineering resources or services, which are necessary for the successful completion of the ITER Project._
- The ACSD Division provides technical support to the ITER project in the _assembly of the machine and the plant systems, site coordination and in-field engineering support to installation activities, _
- component and system commissioning and operation of the systems once the commissioning is complete. _Being a member of the ACSD Division, you will have the opportunity to share and develop your expertise with other colleagues working in the same discipline in different ITER projects._

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Ensures assembly work by contractors is undertaken to appropriate and specified quality standards.
- Provides input on engineering work scope completion, installation methods, requirements, and construction execution sequence.
- Maintains and approves documentation, identifying any variances or issues, detailing progress on the work activities throughout the assembly/construction phase.
- Writes technical documentation as required (such as coordination plans, logistics plans, etc.) and updates documents as needed for the scope of activity.
- Collaborates and acts as primary contact point between multidisciplinary teams (design team, safety, assembly contractors, construction management, commissioning, lifting, logistics and scaffoldings teams) to enhance communication and optimize workflows.
- Collects and verifies input data for the assembly of the assigned scope and reviews the deliverables produced by external contractors.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Provides high-level support for assembly related problems and follows-up on the resolution of on-site engineering changes and installation non-conformities.
- Reviews detailed workshop drawings or any Installation Procedures, Inspection & Test Plans and the installation testing issued by the installation Contractor.
- Issues inspection and observation reports when and where required.
