Environment and Sustainable Development Manager

The R&D centres at the Maizières campus rely on the Shared Services Unit to achieve their strategic and operational objectives within the ArcelorMittal group. The EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) team is an integral part of the site's shared services, reporting to the site manager. It is responsible for risk assessment and, in agreement with site management, proposes a policy on safety, health and respect for the environment. It also works to reduce the impact of the business on the environment through a sustainable development policy.

**Your role**

As a sustainable development engineer in the EHS department at the Maizières-Lès-Metz R&D site, you will have following missions:

- You will lead the sustainable development approach at the Maizières-Lès-Metz R&D site, in line with the site's and the Group's policies and guidelines.
- You will advise management on the areas of development that contribute to the company's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) challenges.
- You will implement actions in line with the company's corporate social responsibility policy by leading the multi-year environmental plan.
- You will be a driving force behind proposals and coordinate actions to address environmental and social impact issues
- You will be responsible for carrying out the site's carbon footprint and leading the actions aimed at achieving the objectives of controlling and reducing emissions.
- You will set up performance and activity management indicators
- You will be responsible for regulatory declarations: tertiary decree, carbon footprint, CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and for monitoring and assisting with CSR compliance.
- You will conduct awareness-raising and staff training initiatives
- You will advise and support the various stakeholders in the company, lead working groups and make proposals in the area of sustainable development.

**Your profile**
- You have a Master's degree or an engineering degree or equivalent experience with a specialisation in EHS in the field of sustainable development and/or CSR.
- You have at least 2 years' experience in an equivalent position in an EHS structure within an industrial environment.
- You are trained in ISO45001 and ISO14001 EHS management systems and are able to deploy the associated management tools.
- In addition to your technical skills, you enjoy working in the field, are open-minded and have good interpersonal skills.
- You have cross-functional management skills, good communication skills, leadership qualities and the ability to bring people together.
- You are organised, rigorous, constructive and able to analyse and summarise.
- You have advanced levels of English and French.
