Reserving Team Lead

Wakam is a European B2B2C insurer that designs white label insurance products for its partners (e-retailers, brokers and fintechs/insurtechs, etc.). Our insurance products are embedded in the products or services offered to the end-customer.

We operate in 32 European countries with the majority of our turnover generated outside France.

We provide most of our products through API, and hosts white label insurance solutions via our Play&Plug technology platform.
- **The Mission**

As the Team Lead for the Reserving squad at Wakam Underwriting Office, you will oversee and lead a team responsible for various tasks, including:

- Conducting technical and actuarial analyses to enhance the accuracy of quarterly reserving assessments.
- Preparing, analyzing, and verifying Best Estimate calculations for the economic balance sheet and Solvency 2 reporting.
- Participating in the monthly monitoring of technical indicators such as frequencies, average costs, and IBNR consumption rates.
- Proposing and implementing enhancements to provisioning processes and tools.
- Ensuring the quality of data used for calculations and maintaining close collaboration with other teams, including claims management and finance.
- Managing a small team of actuaries: facilitating effective communication and collaboration, particularly in the context of closures ; encouraging responsibility, initiative and helping team members to develop over the long term.

**Qualifications and skills**:

- Significant experience in non-life insurance reserving.
- A previous leadership experience is desirable.
- Strong proficiency in SAS, R, SQL query, and modeling languages.
- Excellent command of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Fluency in French & English

- Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork, coupled with the ability to work autonomously.
- Methodical, rigorous, and articulate presentation of results.
