Senior Data Engineer

**Trimble Agriculture / Bilberry activity**:
In Trimble Agriculture, Bilberry is an innovative Agtech, whose ambition is to reduce the quantity of herbicide used worldwide by 80%. Our products, protected by more than 30 patents, use the most advanced image processing AI technology in collaboration with embedded systems to help achieve our mission of a more sustainable agriculture.

In order to reduce the amount of herbicides used, our camera network, directly embedded on the boom of the sprayers, continuously scans the paddock, identifies the weeds within the crops in real time, and controls the spraying automatically. By using our technology, we spray only where it’s needed, when it’s needed.

**The Mission**:
As a senior data engineer at Trimble Agriculture / Bilberry you will have a key role in the process of developing deep learning algorithms. You will be responsible for designing and building data infrastructures, to store and organize the huge amount of images and data we receive from our machines.

This involves working closely with our team of AI engineers and cloud developers to ensure that our data pipelines are robust and efficient to train the best algorithms possible.

**It involves the following responsibilities**:

- Design and build data infrastructures to extract, store and organize large volumes of images and data from our machines.
- Develop data flows to optimize the transfer of images from our systems to our training datasets.
- Develop data pipelines and workflows to ensure data quality and accuracy.
- Optimize the access to the data for our AI engineers.
- Conduct image metadata analysis to guide data gathering and data selection.
- Collaborate with the AI team to identify possible data-related improvements for our algorithms.
- Develop pipelines to run algorithms on our large image database for data cleaning, sorting and analyzing.
- Develop tools and pipelines to accelerate data selection for annotation.
- Be involved in our sprints flow and actively participate in the different technical discussions and team meetings.

**Your Profile**:

- You enjoy taking on new challenges and have excellent analysis skills. You are able to find solutions to identified problems and to set them up
- You are both autonomous and able to work in a team. You are willing to share your knowledge with others and to always improve your skills.
- You own a bachelor’s, master’s or degree in computer science, data science, machine learning or a related field
- You have at least 2 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on designing and building data infrastructures and pipelines
- Advanced knowledge in Python or other data oriented programming languages
- Deep understanding of database design and architecture : SQL, NoSSQL
- Familiar with ETL processes, data modeling and data warehousing concepts
- Experienced in cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Good knowledge about big data technologies : Apache, Hadoop, Spark
- Small knowledge of Machine Learning, Deep Learning and related frameworks : Tensorflow or Pytorch
- Full knowledge of GIT
- You are fluent in English
