SoundHound Inc. builds voice AI products that make it easier for people to engage with the world around them. We do this by creating custom voice assistants that make it possible for companies to extend their brand in new and meaningful ways. Today, our customized voice AI solutions allow people to talk to phones, cars, smart speakers, mobile apps, coffee machines, and every other part of the emerging 'voice-first' world.

Our Linguists have ownership for their language area and may provide linguistic contributions to other languages. We validate voice recordings and review the quality of text data, provide phonetic and other linguistic input, work directly with our ASR engineers to train and test our speech models and NLU results.

**In this role you will**:

- Validate speech training data
- Work on our pronunciation dictionaries
- Provide phonetic transcriptions and other work required to support the training of all our models
- Advocate for our partners and their end users to ensure a satisfying voice user experience from the recognition of speech queries and commands to the returned results.
- Have the opportunity to contribute to the creation and adaptation of best practices, process and procedures. You will also work collaboratively with technical counterparts, peer linguists and team leads. As we grow the team, you will help hire language team members and contribute to their successful onboarding.

**We would love to hear from you if**:

- You have a native-level proficiency in Czech (written, verbal and grammar)
- You are trained in language studies, and/or have a degree in language or linguistics or equivalent experience
- You are eligible to work in France and are very proficient in English
- You are experienced working with phonetic transcriptions, data curation and data quality
- You are able to create and drive a broad spectrum of linguistic work and linguistic projects
- You are able to gain a deep understanding of speech technology sub systems, analyze linguistic issues and propose potential solutions to engineering teams
- You are extremely focused with a high attention to detail and enjoy completing repetitive data quality verification tasks
- You are flexible and collaborative, but you can also work independently and enjoy taking on new tasks
- You are intrigued by language and science, and the possibilities created when these two things meet

**We'd be especially excited if you**:

- Have experience as a data evaluator or have worked with training data for machine learning
- Have experience working with external business partners and vendors
- Have Unix, Python or C++ or other programming experience
- Have team lead and/or project coordination/management experience
- Are experienced with Google Docs, Excel and Jira
- Are a music lover and enjoy solving puzzles
