Job Summary

Role overview:
The Product Steward Specialist is responsible for achieving the company’s Product Stewardship objectives for High Temperatures Solutions (HTS) Business Area. This position requires interaction with customers, suppliers, global government agencies, industry associations and employees at all levels within the organisation.

This role has overall responsibility for the product stewardship programs, ensuring that business objectives and compliance requirements are met.

He/she supports the organisation to contribute to business growth and sustainability regarding all aspects of product stewardship including product compliance, material and product safety, product footprint, and sustainable design.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Main tasks- Authoring Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s) at global level through the use of appropriate software. Global regulatory monitoring of Safety Data Sheets regulations development, impact assessment on the SDS’s portfolio and roll-out of a compliance plan to ensure BA’s conformity- Authoring of safe use, handling and disposal instructions in collaboration with EHS colleagues for further deployment at the manufacturing sites- Accountable for the compliant product labelling development & communication to manufacturing sites- Accountable for ensuring product compliance & safety testing plan in close collaboration with S&T and manufacturing sites- Ensure product compositional data are up to date and reliable in close collaboration with Quality, Purchasing, and Product Data Managers- Track and timely respond external customers product stewardship enquiries- Is the PS Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for specific product lines or business regions and provides support to internal stakeholders on PS matters. Support Innovation and sustainability effort of the BA from a PS perspective- Ensure adequate management, storage and retention of Product Stewardship data and knowledge as well as keeping product compliance files up to date- Product Stewardship budget spending tracking and reporting- Help to maintain PS awareness within the BA through training and coaching on PS expertise matters- Help the BA to improve and/or adopt process, IT tools- Identify and foster continuous improvements to increase PS team effectiveness, and eliminate non-value added work for the team and the business

Additionally- is involved into specific PS expertise activities such as Global Chemical and Product Safety regulations monitoring, Chemicals of concerns regulatory monitoring- Assist the other Product Stewardship Team Members in various compliance projects and initiatives both at regional or global level

Qualifications & Experience- Master Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (chemistry, environmental science, toxicology, R&D)- 3+ years in a regulatory or product stewardship role, preferably at global industry level focusing on Hazard communication compliance management- Knowledge of SDS authoring software usage is required- Knowledge of SDS regulations and associated requirements at global level coupled with a proven efficiency of hazardous classification determination according to CLP/GHS. Compliant product labelling understanding is required- Knowledge of global chemical regulations impacting HTS products/markets globally (EU, UK, Turkey, Japan, South Korea,...)- Operational experience of Poison Centre Notifications for hazardous chemical mixtures in EU would be a strong plus- English is mandatory, French would be a plus
