**Context**
- Nexans has initiated a major strategic shift from a cable generalist to a pure electrification player all along the value chain, from generation to usage through transport and distribution. In particular, Nexans will further enhance its leading positioning in interconnexions and offshore wind farm connections by delivering full solutions and cutting edge technologies. In Power Distribution and Building, Nexans will further develop its position from cable and accessories producer to delivering solutions for the management for the grid (growth, replacement, smart exploitation, asset management).- In line with this strategy, Nexans reinforces its innovation & R&D in order to develop New electrical solution offers.- The electrical engineering department is working with the building design lab, grid design lab, electrical lab and the FabLab to deliver new offers.**Purpose**
- The purpose of this job is to help delivering new key electrical solution offers to make Nexans a leading player in the value chain of Power transmission, distribution and usages.- To do so, an electronics and embedded systems engineer in the field of prototyping is needed to design and prototype sensor circuits including software systems related to the new key electrical solution offers. Its main role is to ensure that the sensor prototypes are developed to the required standards and specifications at each step of its development both in the functioning and the validation phases.- The electronics engineer will be in charge of:
- **Testing and Debugging the prototype**:Once the prototype is designed and built, electronics engineer is responsible for testing and debugging the system to ensure that it meets the required specifications. He must use various testing tools and equipment to identify and resolve any issues that arise during the testing process.
- **Prototyping documentation**:he will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation related to the design and development of the electronic product or system. This includes documenting the design and testing process, creating user manuals, maintaining a bill of materials (BOM), documenting and maintaining firmware releases.
- **Communication**:Electronics engineers in the field of prototyping are responsible for communicating with various stakeholders, including project managers, other engineers, and customers. he must be able to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and effectively communicate project status updates.
**Required skills, know how & experience**
- Electronic engineering master degree
- 2-3 experience in electronic sensor development with embedded software programming
- Result oriented
- Mindset of developing adjacent competencies related to prototyping such as coding and machining
- Fluent in English
- Expert in electronic design and manufacturing
- Familiar with software programming (python, C, Zephyr OS,)
- Electrical and thermal FEM simulation tools
