Software Engineer in Optimization of The Hot Strip

You will join the Global R&D Software Factory composed of 5 domains (1) Iron Making (2) Steel Making (3) Hot Strip Mill (4) Finishing (5) Control Quality. Reporting to the Hot Strip Mill domain manager, the department has the mission to deliver new technological solutions to ArcelorMittal plants and contribute to the major projects of the decade for the decarbonization of the metallurgical industry, all supported by a massive deployment of digital technologies to improve performance.
This position is inside the Hot Strip Mill team.
In short term, you will take in charge R&D projects as development and deployment leader, propose new ideas, competitors and suppliers survey, university partnerships to generate new solutions in our plants. Business travels will allow you to work with partners in a worldwide perimeter and to experience different working cultures.

**Your role**

You will be in charge of developing & deploying Hot Strip Mill process solutions, mainly designed to:

- Adapt and/or reinvent existing processes to pursue the ArcelorMittal progress towards carbon neutral steel;
- Adapt the process to design new steel products aligned with company's environmental committment and the market trends (mobility, climate transformation, CO2 mitigation)
- Participate actively of the digital transformation of ArcelorMittal
- Improve the productivity & reliability of ArcelorMittal production lines.

Immediately, you will be involved in following activities:

- R&D projects dedicated to the decarbonization process for all Steel Making process within the ArcelorMittal group.
- Contribution to standard solution development for Steel Making area based on technology standard used.
- Contribution to the deployment of the solution at AM plants according to the roadmap defined by Portfolio and CTO management in line with the strategy in terms of:

- Data governance
- Model governance
- Cyber-security
- Contribution to analyze and propose the assets of new technologies to increase the reliability and sustainability of the standard solutions proposed for a worldwide deployment.
- To support new solution developments to improve the process

**Your profile**
- You hold a Master's degree related to the field of Software Engineering.
- You have experience using development environment (.NET Core, C#, WPF) to produce real time model to optimize process operations.
- You have knowledge of data ecosystems MS SQL Server, Mongo DB.
- You are able to manage and deployment the projects within Azure DevOps environment.
- You have knowledge in Office 365: Teams, Share Point, Power BI.
- You are advanced in French and in English.
- You are autonomous, innovative, curious and results oriented.
- You have aptitude in data analysis, problem-solving, critical thinking,
- You have good communication and social skills to be able to communicate easily with multidisciplinary teams with a strong technological component and to work in project teams within a multi-cultural environment.
- You are able to understand various issues in operational departments and to transcribe them in terms of data management.
- You are able to travel worldwide.
- Knowledge of operation research technology (SIMPLEX, Constraint Programming) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System and Manufacturing Intelligence is a plus.
