Software Engineer in Decarbonization of The Steel

You will join Global Research and Development business unit of ArcelorMittal, in its R&D Software Factory department (RDSF). RDSF department is composed of 5 domains: Iron Making, Steel Making, Hot Strip Mill, Finishing and Quality Control and its mission is to embed R&D process models into industrial software solutions and to deploy them in the whole ArcelorMiittal group. As a member of this team, you will actively contribute to ArcelorMittal initiative for the decarbonation of the steel industry, which is supported by a massive deployment of digital technologies to improve performance and reduce environment footprint. **Your role** This position is inside the Steel Making domain, which covers the whole "liquid steel" phase of the process, but you will also take part to transverse or multi-domains projects. You will work in a multi-cultural environment and will be in contact with various plants and R&D centers of the group (Europe, Brasil, Canada, South Africa, etc.). You will take part to the implementation of: - Steel Making standard process solutions to support ArcelorMittal's journey towards carbon neutral steel (switch from oxygen steelmaking route to electrical one) - Surrounding tools and offline environments for data collection and analysis in order to support the plants for daily monitoring of models (KPIs, Tuning, implementation of machine learning models, etc.) - New technologies to lever R&D solutions possibilities **Your profile** - You hold a Master's degree related to Architecture or Project Management. - You have a background in software solutions development for the industry. - You have good knowledge of the steelmaking process (or at least strong will to learn it): you understand the main concepts of steelmaking and are able to discuss process topics with researchers and operations people. The purpose is to to identify their needs and understand the issues they face, in order to propose pragmatic solutions to them. - You are advanced in French and in English. - You have good communication skills to easily exchange with multidisciplinary teams from various countries. - You have aptitudes in thinking "standard", to implement solutions that can be shared by different plants. - You have sensitivity to online solutions running in an industrial context. - You are curious and willing to innovate. - Some of the following technical skills are real plus: - Backgroung in process models and operational research technology (SIMPLEX, Constraint Programming) - Mastering of.NET environment (.NET 6, C#) - Expertise in Web Architecture and knowledge of Angular technology. - Knowledge of data ecosystems: databases (SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.), synchronization strategies between various data sources (ETL, etc.) and how to exploit them (data analysis, dashborading, machine learning techniques, etc.) **According to ArcelorMittal Global R&D values**: - You agree to comply with health and safety rules - You are respectful, transparent, honest and empathetic in your relationships.
