The role involves managing a small freight forwarding office with huge potential to expand and develop. You will have the proactive task of increasing revenue generation through current customers as well as business development to the wider market. Working to a strong set of standard operating procedures you will ensure your team provides excellent customer service at all stages of the forwarding process. This role would suit someone with a flair for entrepreneurial imagination, who wants to progress their career with a new and exciting challenge.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Overviewing branch operations, ensuring they are completed in accordance with the company’s Operations procedures
- Monitoring KPI’s such as Task Adoption, Margin Management, Billing Velocity
- Ensuring compliance of all country regulations by remaining up-to-date of freight forwarding and customs laws.
- Maintaining awareness of forwarding and logistics markets - including potential new investments, key customers and competition
- Maintaining & developing existing business relationships
- Working with the Sales team to develop new business through communication with potential clients (visit or telephone)
- Ensuring effective negotiations on price to maximise profitability
- Ensuring good relationships between customers, colleagues and third parties to support operational excellence and adherence to deadlines
- Maintaining regular reviews with customers to gather feedback on customer service and develop opportunities for growth.
- Ensuring team activities reflect your high level of customer service
- The overall performance of the Branch
- Planning staffing levels, recruit, select, and ensure smooth on-boarding process for new staff, as required
- Coaching, developing and motivating your team, ensuring they have the knowledge to complete their duties
- Formally managing your direct reports, e.g. performance appraisals, inductions, disciplinary matters
- Leading colleagues to create a positive working environment
- Health and Safety, welfare, infrastructure (office equipment), security for the branch.
- Managing office facilities and suppliers

**What we need from you**:

- To be proactive when faced with problems
- Previous experience working in a management or supervisory capacity within freight forwarding.
- Demonstrable ability to build effective relationships internally and externally
- Ability to manage and motivate staff effectively whilst ensuring operational excellence and outstanding service delivery at all times.
- Excellent leadership qualities and demonstrable strong work ethic.
- As we are a US based Company with the Regional Headquarters in London, England, you must be fluent in both written and spoken English as well as the ability to speak the local language.
