As part of the International legal team your main responsibility will be to provide legal support to members of BMC Helix’ sales organisation in France, Benelux and other European territories as needed. You will be responsible for a broader territory within EMEA (including Germany) and have a small team of 1 to 2 lawyers reporting into you. You will also liaise closely with peers in other EMEA regions and in the US. The position requires excellent interpersonal communications skills combined with a broad business acumen and enthusiasm for working in a diverse, global and fast paced environment. Applicants must have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate legal concepts to business partners to achieve the best outcome in a timely manner. - The role holder will be an integral member of the International legal department, reporting to the International Legal Director (EMEA, Latin America & Asia Pacific). Key responsibilities will include: - Negotiate all types of technology contracts e.g. SaaS, software licensing and support, consulting services and education agreements. - Work closely with internal BMC Helix stakeholders to ensure contracts comply with accounting rules, internal guidelines and BMC Helix global policies. - Provide legal advice and counsel on regional or country-specific legal issues. - Support the corporate compliance programs, including educating regional employees. - Liaise with outside counsel on region-specific engagements and assist on litigation engagements. - Undertake ad-hoc projects. - Communicate with regional sales managers and customers as appropriate to ensure compliance and involvement in contract negotiations, legal issues and processes. Desired Skills & Experience- Legal counsel qualified to practice in France (qualification to practice in a common law jurisdiction a plus). - 5 to 10 years of qualified legal experience in France or another common law jurisdiction, ideally as an in-house in an IT company or a law firm. - Excellent written and verbal presentation skills in French and English (any other European language skills will be positively valued). - Excellent interpersonal communication skills. - Desire to work as part of a global team in a fast-paced environment. - Willingness to occasionally travel. - Hybrid location (Office & WFH). Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is €69,375 - €115,625
