R&d/product Development Engineer

As an Electrical Design Engineering, you will be responsible for the overall electronic functionality of embedded sensors platform/product including translating customer specifications into electronic specifications. You will drive the development of the electronic boards of embedded sensors and coordinate design efforts across various supporting functions (E-Cad Engineers for PCAB Layout, Modeling & Simulation, EMI/EMC Experts, Mechanical integration of electronic functions, test & validation resources) from concept phase to product validation and launch in production.
The Electronic Design Engineer in assigned projects will interact with customers, with internal cross-functional engineering teams across the globe and with external technical partners to develop the most appropriate electronic design to meet our customer requirements. Also, he/she will be involved in VAVE-Sustaining opportunities to optimize the cost of the serial boards.

**Your Main Tasks**:

- Translate customer specification into electronic design specification, update and track corresponding compliance matrix.
- Manage feasibility study and prototypes assembly when needed.
- Design new electronic board and drive E-Cad Engineers for PCAB Layout and validate PCB layouts.
- Create all quality documents (worst case, thermal calculations, ICT test specification, DFMEA, integration ).
- Work out and evaluate functional safety concept and specify requirements for process steps like EOL teaching/calibration.
- Drive peer reviews during the development of the electronic board, ensure meeting guidelines and contribute to their update or creation when required.
- Coordinate efforts across engineering functions (Mechanical integration, Modeling & Simulation, EMI/EMC performances, test & validation) to make sure requested final performances are fulfilled.
- Keep track of PCB manufacturing (sub-contractors, supplier) and conduct reviews when needed
- Manage and execute electronic validations (functional, electrical, EMC, thermal, )
- Conduct analysis of faulty parts to find the failure’s root cause and take corrective actions,
- Report progress on meeting customer requirements, performance, cost and deliverable dates on assigned projects.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risk associated to electronic boards on assignment projects
- Perform benchmark analysis of IC available in the market and conduct IC characterization
- Contributes to developing the IC Specification based on product requirements

**Your Ideal Background**:

- Master’s degree in technical discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronics)
- 3-5+ years experience in development of electronic board for sensor products thru the full lifecycle developments (initial research & development though series launch) for automotive industry.
- Experience in all aspects of automotive electronic design, development and deployment of automotive productsElectronic Specification, Design, Functional Verification, IC Verification, Qualification & Release
- Experience with electronic supplier interactions (component vendors, PCB manufacturer) for electronic development
- Experience with automotive customer interactions in developing sensor products
- Proficient in using Electronic design development tools and simulation tools
- High team spirit to also share your knowledge to develop expertise of other team members
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions when presented with a series of challenges, conflicts and constraints
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to travel as required, ~15%
