**Core mission**
The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is Europe's leading research facility for fundamental research using neutrons. The ILL operates the brightest neutron source in the world and hosts over 2000 visits by scientists per year, who come to carry out world-class research.
Under the responsibility of the Head of the Site Security and Protection Service (SSP), which is part of the ILL’s Reactor Division, you will help to ensure the safety and security of persons and property on the site. As a member of the Site Security and Protection team, you will assist in the surveillance of the various secured areas on the ILL site and will work in collaboration with the shift teams in the reactor control room.
**Your tasks**
As part of the Site Security and Protection Service (SSP), you will carry out general site surveillance, manage site access and respond in the event of an incident.
Your main responsibilities will be the following:
- **Site surveillance**: Monitor CCTV continuously, and perform regular patrols and alarm verifications to guarantee the security of the installations.
- **Site access management**: Issue site access authorisations, carry out entry and exit controls and accompany authorised visitors and staff at various ILL locations.
- ** Incident response**: Perform first-response duties in the event of an alarm, fire or medical emergency, coordinate with the emergency services and ensure compliance with site security procedures.
- **Monitoring and coordination**: Maintain the service logbook, relay information within the team, take part in periodic testing and inspections of site security equipment.
**Your profile**
- You have a Level 3/4 qualification (‘A’ level, NVQ or equivalent) in the field of security.
- You hold a valid private security guard licence (CNAPS licence, SIA licence or equivalent).
- You have extensive security experience in the private or public sector, or in the emergency services (military, fire service, police, etc.).
- You must be proficient in the use of IT tools and surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms, etc.).
- You must be able to demonstrate good reactivity and a methodical approach to your work. You are a team player and maintain good self-control at all times.
- Your profile is eligible for clearance by the authorities (in-depth administrative screening (background checks)).
- You must be fluent in spoken and written French. An intermediate level of English (A2-B1 minimum) is also required to understand and give simple instructions in a professional context.
