Rapidly scaling up, we are currently looking to fill the newly created role of Junior IT Engineer to help and support the IT Engineer and Systems Engineer in scaling up our IT infrastructure and operations.

**JUNIOR IT ENGINEER**
- Based in Plan les Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland_
Start date: Ideally ASAP or as agreed

**Key Responsibilities**:
Reporting directly to the Chief Product and Technology Officer in Geneva, the Junior IT Engineer will be responsible for supporting the IT Engineer & Systems Administrator in a wide range of tasks including:

- Implementation, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operations of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
- Installations, update, and upgrade computer components and software
- Installations and management of virtual servers
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics
- Documentation of problems and resolutions, prioritization of problems, and assess of impact of issues, assess of vulnerabilities and risk of breach.
- Control and management of stock and inventory of material, assurance of traceability
- Provide documentation and technical specifications relative to the IT infrastructure and the Information Systems
- Plan and implement new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
- Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
- Participation in various IT & R&D projects in collaboration with the teams and across the organisation
- Support of 1st and 2nd level support for internal colleagues
- End to end involvement in global infrastructure design, deployment, operations, and support
- Implementation of virtualization of R&D environments and solutions
- Ensure compliance to the norms and standards for the IT & SI infrastructure

**Essential Skills**:

- Knowledge of networks, server implementation and management (Linux, Microsoft Windows), security, firewalls, DMZ, Trust Zone, VPN, monitoring solutions
- Knowledge of Assets management, user accounts management, user’s office implementation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure environment deployment, SaaS, n-Tier architecture, load balancing, DBMS, Database systems (MS SQL Servers, PostgreSQL,)
- Technically you are familiar with Microsoft cloud solutions and on-premises.

**Optional extras, nice to have but not essential**:

- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, vSphere, EXSi, HA, Clusters, VMs migration), Network Virtualization
- Knowledge in DevOps, Docker, Ansible, Deployment and Automation Storage solutions
- Good skills in scripting for IT system administration (PowerShell, shell).
- Ideally you have knowledge of ITIL, JIRA, CMDB, Assets Management solutions and Ticketing Systems such as JIRA or SalesForce

**You are**:

- A graduate of Engineering school, Computer Science, Communication Systems, Computer Engineering or Telecommunication. Master’s degree a plus.
- 2 years of work experience in enterprise infrastructure activities with assets, servers, network, and user accounts management
- Users and solutions oriented
- Strong capacity to analyse business requirements and propose relevant technical solutions
- Capable of working autonomously, proactively, and collaboratively within the team and across the organisation.
- Ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical ways with clients and colleagues
