Compliance Manager (M/F)

The opportunity

The position will be based in Paris and you will report into the Compliance Manager Europe.

Your new role

Compliance
- Support the Head of Compliance/Chief Risk Officer for QBE Europe.
- Provide advice to business on interpretation/impact/compliance with regulatory requirements to ensure service delivery expectations of the business are met
- Review changes to regulation, update local policies and procedures in line with any regulatory developments
- Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the France Compliance team in accordance with established plans and priorities, and act as key local point of contact for compliance matters
- Ensure delivery of the relevant training to the business as required and oversee local completion of online compliance training courses
- Regularly engage with the Europe Compliance team and other Europe central functions as appropriate
- Manage ongoing relationship with ACPR with support from Head of Compliance/Chief Risk Officer for QBE Europe as required

Risk Management
- Identify and assess potential risks to business objectives stemming from the upcoming regulation, and where appropriate take action to prevent or reduce impact or probability of the risk occurring, through the implementation of appropriate controls and action plans
- Report as appropriate and undertake formal risk or control assessments (if relevant)
- Support the risk analysis of the branch in collaboration with business teams; coordinate and drive the permanent control plan and organize corrective action plans in connection with the operational teams

Permanent Control
- Define a control plan. Monitor and assess on regular basis the process
- Monitor regulatory developments and promote team and management awareness and coordinate response to proposed changes
- Regular engagement with central EO Control functions as appropriate (ERM, UGD, IA etc.)
- Monitor management action plans for every audit recommendation

About you
- Minimum 7-year experience in compliance or legal in insurance, underwriting background is a plus
- Fluent in English
- Master’s degree in law
- Strategic thinker, able to recommend solutions that balances business and risk perspectives
- Team members management experience
