**About the Role**
As the IT Service Desk Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, responsive IT support to the end users of Bonhams' supplied equipment and services. This role involves ensuring the effective provisioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT assets while adhering to company policies and standards. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain operational excellence and ensure that all technical requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent IT support as part of the Service Desk team, ensuring prompt assistance to end users.
- Support includes but is not limited to:
- Provision and maintenance of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and desk phones.
- Procurement of equipment and spares through authorized channels while adhering to procurement policies.
- Training users on the proper use of equipment and how to access information and support.
- Effectively manage end-user software licenses.
- Ensure all equipment is delivered with a secure, standardized configuration.
- Troubleshoot user issues, escalating to the appropriate support teams or external partners when necessary.
- Deliver on-premises auction support as require for Paris and Brussels mainly but travels to other sites as well.
- Maintain accurate records of all equipment, services, and Configuration Items (CIs) in the OSS tools.
- Update and manage knowledge repositories to support business-as-usual (BAU) functions and broader training needs.
- Ensure timely prioritization and resolution of all assigned or relevant tickets in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).Travel to support projects and onsite auctions across Europe and internationally as needed.
**Key Skills & Attributes**
- Minimum of 5 years of IT experience, with a strong technical background in support roles.
- At least 3 years of experience in building and deploying desktop equipment and services.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience supporting networks and Wi-Fi technologies.
- Experience in supporting live events, particularly streaming and AV technologies (training will be provided for Bonhams-specific equipment).
- Microsoft MCSA or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Expertise in deploying and supporting Microsoft OS, Office 365, MacOS, and security tools.
- Knowledge of remote access and mobile workforce technologies, including Unified Communications, multi-factor authentication, and VPNs.
- ITIL Foundation certification or higher is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
- Proficiency in French and English is required.
- A proactive self-starter with a positive and friendly attitude toward supporting end users.This position requires flexibility and a willingness to travel when necessary to support both project and auction-related tasks.
