We are looking for a Marine Liability Underwriter and/ or Ports & Terminals Underwriter based in Paris, Milan or Rotterdam.

**Your Team**
You will be part of a dynamic Marine Hull and Cargo team, mostly based in Paris, and operating within the wider Mediterranean and Africa Region. The team collaborates with a shared sense of purpose and this is a client focused unit which has a technical underwriting approach to its portfolio.

**The Impact You Will Have**
- You will be based indifferently in Paris, Milan, or Rotterdam, forming part of the wider Marine Line of Business with offices around the Globe, and will be reporting directly to the Head of Hull and Marine Liabilities in Paris.
- You will underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet Marine Line of Business targets.
- You will also negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions. You will be expected to take ownership of accounts and clients, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new brokers and clients.
- Some of your specific responsibilities could include
- Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets as well as underwrite capacity aggregations including Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, ensuring an understanding of catastrophe modelling and interpretation of scenarios
- Negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions with brokers and maintain good relationships with them
- Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception
- Ensure utilisation of global pricing tools as well as placing and binding of FAC Reinsurance prior to policy inception
- Positively represent AGCS externally to the market
- Train, develop and coach less experienced staff (including Junior Underwriters, Operations and Credit Control)

**What You’ll Bring to the Role**
- At least 5 years' experience as an Underwriter, Broker or in Risk Management in the marine sector
- Risk Assessment and Management: ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to the Marine Line of Business
- Experience in designing and implementing consistent and robust wordings
- Experience with policy administration life cycle, information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control and cancellation
- Ability to create relationships and communicate clearly at all levels and with different stakeholders
- Ability to persuade and motivate others to act, without executive authority
- Analytical skills
