**About Blue Alliance Marine Protected Areas**

Blue Alliance (BA), an international NGO founded in 2016, manages Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) on behalf of governments and builds social enterprises in the Blue Economy. BA currently manages 1,000,000 hectares of **Marine Protected Areas** (MPAs) across four MPA networks in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Zanzibar. With plans to extend our management to six MPA networks by 2030, our goal is to protect 2,000,000 hectares of coral reef biodiversity, safeguard over 70 threatened marine species, and significantly improve the livelihoods of more than 50,000 coastal community members.

Our innovative model not only focuses on ecological conservation but also ensures the economic empowerment of local communities through long-term income generation from **reef-positive businesses** in ecotourism, community-based aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, and blue carbon credits. Each business reduces specific drivers of coral reef ecosystem degradation and contributes financially to the MPA management through dividends and/or revenue sharing.

We fund early-stage investments into these businesses through our blended finance facility. We work with like-minded donors and investors by effectively co-managing MPAs and building **Blue Economy**businesses in and around them.

Our multi-disciplinary senior central management team (14 staff) collaborates closely with on-the-ground MPA teams and reef-positive enterprise teams (110 staff). The international team focuses on revenue and conservation strategy execution, providing expertise in effective MPA management, blended finance, and business management in ecotourism, aquaculture, fisheries, and blue carbon.

**Role and Responsibilities**

We are looking for a dynamic Financial Operations Junior Manager to join our international team. This role involves assisting daily financial operations, supporting cash flow management, optimizing business processes, implementing internal controls, and coordinating with various departments to ensure optimal financial management within the organization. **You will also be required to travel occasionally to our international subsidiaries**.

As we are currently in the process of developing new reef-positive businesses and MPAs, you, alongside the CFO, will play a key role in maintaining the financial management of the whole organization, contributing to successful operation across all our entities in a **young and dynamic company**.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

- Assist in the day-to-day management of financial operations (accounting, cash management, payment and revenue processing)
- Support the implementation of internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the optimization of business processes related to financial operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency.
- Assist with managing cash flow, and financial forecasting.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure that financial operations are aligned with the strategic goals of the organization.
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for the short and medium term.
- Help ensure the organization complies with local regulatory requirements by supporting internal and external audits.
- Proactively identify areas for financial and business process improvements and assist in the implementation of corrective actions where necessary.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Assist in missions with international subsidiaries to support local teams in managing financial operations.
- Support the creation and development of new entities, adapting financial operations to the startup-like environment.

**Qualifications & Requirements**
- Intermediate experience (3-5 years) in a financial operations role or related position
- An understanding of **financial management software** (ERP such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Zoho, advanced Excel, etc.) and accounting standards
- Strong **communication** skills and **organizational** skills with attention to detail.
