Director Legal Euro

**Overview**:
As **_Director Legal EURO_**, you will be managing and delivering legal advice, direction, and documentation to the GEO Leadership Team in relation to contracts, customers, or programmes pertinent to the region.

You will be accountable for providing leadership and expertise in Legal matters to the GEO and ensuring compliance with SITA-wide Legal governance.

What you will do_**
- Provide legal support to the Geo in relation to all business activities in that Geo under supervision of the GEO Legal Director.
- Plan, manage and address areas of legal risk and /or compliance on GEO projects
- Advise and influence management with requisite communication and inter-personal skills
- Lead legal support on transactions within the Geo including major or complex customer transactions
- Advise negotiate and decide on Geo material legal contract matters including risk assessment
- Support Geo dispute resolution in terms of business issues potential or actual litigation
- Manage Intellectual Property Management issues in the GEO, in coordination with Group Legal Centre of Expertise
- Ensure legal compliance when launching major initiatives & projects in the GEO
- Support local HR on employee related legal issues as requested
- Manage risk mitigation of trade related activities, in coordination with Group Legal Centre of Expertise
- Ensures delivery against internal GEO customer satisfaction expectations.

**Qualifications**:
**_Who you are_**
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Law
- Recognized legal qualification (registered or licensed Attorney lawyer Solicitor or Barrister) or similar equivalent international qualification.
- 10-15 or more years of Legal experience post professional qualification ideally within the IT/Telecoms industry working in an in-house or private practice capacity (Alternatively, 9 years’ experience within SITA)
- Specialist experience in core legal commercial domains
- Experience of managing complex projects/deals of an international nature
- Project management experience.
- Broad knowledge of all areas of commercial and corporate law with particular expertise in one or more areas
- Commercial and Financial awareness
- Good understanding of business and regional business finance
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills, in English and, if possible, in French. Other languages (particularly German) preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at senior levels
- Customer focused and proactive approach
- Excellent transactional skills and good regional cultural awareness
- Capable of working with management and in an environment of change
- Self-motivated and responsible for setting own goals within the context of the job purpose and strategic plans
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Willingness to travel
