R&D Scientific Communication Director
**Reports to**: SVP, R&D Skin Care Research and Innovation
**Mission & Key Responsibilities**:
The R&D Scientific Communication Director will lead the development of a compelling and innovative scientific communication strategy, ensuring alignment with the brand's positioning and strategic priorities. As the technical spokesperson for the brand, you will be responsible for delivering clear, engaging, and cutting-edge scientific communication across various platforms, supporting product launches, and enhancing the brand’s credibility through technical expertise.
**Key responsibilities include**:
**Strategic Leadership**:
Develop a forward-thinking scientific communication strategy that aligns with Coty’s brand vision and priorities.
Serve as the brand’s technical spokesperson, managing all aspects of scientific communication, including press conferences, interviews, and media engagements, to support product launches and brand strategies.
**Brand Support**:
Collaborate closely with the brand teams to provide them with scientific and technical content related to the latest discoveries, innovative ingredients, technologies, and delivery systems.
Ensure this content fuels the brand’s communication channels and enhances the scientific credibility of the brand.
**Scientific Platform Development**:
Contribute to the growth of Coty’s Discovery & Innovation Platforms by leading specific research programs aligned with the brand's scientific and technical territories.
Translate complex technical and scientific data into clear, engaging messages that resonate with diverse audiences, from consumers to media and industry stakeholders.
**Communication Pipeline**:
Partner with R&D experts and research laboratories to create an engaging communication pipeline that highlights key product initiatives, emerging technologies, and Coty's innovation agenda.
**Opportunity Identification & Roadmap Creation**:
Identify global opportunities in scientific conventions, congresses, journals, and digital media to showcase Coty’s technologies.
Build and execute a comprehensive communication roadmap aligned with Coty’s strategic vision.
**Collaboration & Leadership**:
Work cross-functionally with internal R&D stakeholders to prepare scientific presentations, posters, and peer-reviewed journal articles.
Lead and foster a collaborative environment that propels Coty’s skincare agenda forward.
**Minimum Requirements & Qualifications**:
PhD or advanced degree in Biology, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in the beauty industry or a related field.
Exceptional scientific writing and editing skills, with proven experience in preparing manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations.
Strong background in Skin Biology, Cosmetics, Dermatology, or related scientific disciplines.
Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to articulate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
International experience is highly preferred, along with a strong awareness of cultural diversity.
Demonstrated ability to be a strategic influencer, collaborative team player, and problem-solver.
Ability to travel as required.
