Together, with our whole Ohana (Hawaiian for "family") made up of our employees, customers, partners, and communities, we are working to improve the state of the world''' The Search team has an immediate opportunity for a passionate software engineer who wants to redesign its architecture infrastructure to support the growing needs of our customers as well as public cloud infrastructure. The team operates the largest enterprise search deployment in the world (4B search queries/week against 2.7 trillion records updated at a rate of 68B/day, and growing fast). You will be part of a globally distributed team and will work with collaborators to continuously develop, support, and operate the infrastructure, environment, and tooling that supports and enables Salesforce Search. **Responsibilities**: - Engineer solutions that move us along our journey towards zero-touch, highly scalable, reliable infrastructure services. - Automate, optimize and drive efficiency of effort, code, and process. - Resolve sophisticated technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability, resilience and performance. - Create, maintain and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team members. **Required qualifications**: - Experience will be evaluated based on alignment to the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer work, etc.). - Eager to learn and work with others to improve yourself, the team, the product, the company. - Solid understanding of coding is a must. One or more of Python, Golang, Java, and Bash is preferred for at least 3 years of experience - Solid understanding with Kubernetes, Istio, Docker, Helm, Terraform - Ability to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced, diverse team environment. - Proficiency in professional English. - Strong technical skills, excellent communications and problem-solving skills, and the ability to engage and interact with partners in global teams. - Experience in/a strong desire to learn operating resilient distributed systems and designing and implementing infrastructure automation to support them - Lead technical aspects and direction for the team and mentor team members - Tackle roles of product owner for team requirements and technical problems - Understanding and experience with infrastructure tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Spinnaker. - Knowledge on public clouds such as AWS to create tailored solutions solving complicated problems at scale - Understanding the concept of engineering for reliability and being able to drive agendas within the team and across the organization **Skills we are looking for**: - You don’t have to tick all these boxes, if you do, awesome _ - Experience in public cloud infrastructure development or equivalent backend development. Proven understanding of AWS.
