Logistic Shipping Specialist

Overview:
Purpose of Position (Summary):
The main purpose of the position of Shipping Specialist is to ensure a most smooth and efficient processing of all MSA shipments departing from the Chatillon plant destined to third party customers or MSA affiliates.

Shipping Specialist supports the Logistics function in the execution of inbound and outbound logistics activities related to customs and export control transactions, queries and audits.

**Responsibilities**:
- Collaboratively manage and execute the timely and accurately processing of all export deliveries to be shipped from the Chatillon plant and Mohammedia plant. Organize export transportation (Sea, Air, rail Freight) : freight quotation, booking, update of customer order with transport freight).
- Timely and accurate generation and management of Shipping documents such as Dangerous Goods documentation for various transportation modes, delivery notes, packing lists, CMR’s, Letters of Credit, Customs Invoices, EUR1, as well as other documents as provided by other functions such as Export Licenses and Test report. Communication/provide warehouse required documentation/shipping specifications for shipments
- Coordinate Transportation activities with internal and external customers, including Tracking and Tracing as appropriate. Work with Carriers, Shipping warehouse, Customer Services and other MSA departments as needed.
- Handling and resolving of any shipping complaints coming from the Customer Service and other Organizations in close coordination with Transportation Providers
- Handling of drivers, drivers’ documents for export shipments
- Organization / Arrangement of Ad-Hoc shipping requirements with existing and alternative transportation providers, particularly related to large urgent export shipments. Develop transportation processes to efficiently move and deliver our products to meet the customer’s expectations. Use analytical capabilities to find ways to drive down Transportation spend while maintaining service levels.
- Ensure that all transportation related concerns are resolved and communicated appropriately. Interact with carriers to resolve issues and to drive efficiencies
- Processing of returns in close coordination with Customer Service Organizations, Customers and transportation providers
- Invoice verification related outbound transportation
- Spot-checking accuracy of Shipping Documents regarding export compliance and customs requirements, handling of issues to may be spotted
- Generation of transportation cost optimization analyses, calculating improvement proposals
- Management of carrier routing for all export shipments
- Support International (Cross-Trade) freight movements
- Produce Proforma invoice for weekly shipments of Morocco plant to France, Germany and Great-Britain
- Management of Morocco orders of consumables & tools and required documentation for shipments

Qualifications:

**Experience (required)**:
- Minimum 3 years working experience in a Shipping / Transportation environment including line and project management and / or in working with 3PL providers in warehousing.
- ** Level one**: 0-2 years of experience in a similar role in Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service, or related field
- **_ Level two: 2-4 or more years of experience in a similar role in Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service, or related field_**:

- ** Level three**: 4+ or more years of experience in a similar role in Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service, or related field
- Experienced in managing transportation requirements (both domestic and international transportation)
- Experience in SAP Sales and Distribution Module or similar ERP system
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
- Intermediate (B1) to Advanced (C1) in English and in French
- Detailed orientated with excellent analytical, problem solving and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
- Collaborative attitude and influencing skills towards stakeholders and business partners
- Excel and Microsoft tools experience

**Experience (preferred)**:
- Proficiency with SAP (MM, IM), Excel, EDI
- Experience with Export shipments and Export control regulations regarding restricted items
- Good understanding of IncoTerms and impact thereof
- Experience with Dangerous Goods Transportation, IATA-DGR category 2
- Purchasing and order placement along with general supplier handling experience
- Experience in handling customer/supplier issues and driving corrective actions

**Education (required)**:

- Professional training / education in Logistics and Transport / International Trade / Supply Chain or related job experience

**Education (preferred)**:

- APICS, IBF or ISM certifications
