**Product**

Our product takes several forms. For merchants, we're building an API-first solution that lets them offer product insurance to their customers, as well as a dashboard to monitor key metrics. For customers, we're designing a simple (and fast ️) claims experience.

**Technical Challenge**

Our APIs will need to handle billions of requests while ensuring a very low response time. Providing a highly performant, stable API will be mission critical to our integration in leading marketplaces.

**What is the role?**

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for helping the team bring our initial APIs and services to market, and executing our ambitious roadmap.

**What you'll do**
- **Design, build, and maintain** APIs, services, and systems across our engineering team. You will be developing and scaling these from the ground up. Your design decisions will be the building blocks of our technical stack and have a lasting impact.
- **Own** critical parts of the product and work self-directed. We're a small team of individual contributors, everybody has autonomy and responsibility.
- **Collaborate** with stakeholders across the organization, including our Product team.

**You may be a good fit if;**
- You've written high quality code in object oriented languages in the past. While experience in Go is a plus, we care more about your general engineering skillset than knowledge of a specific language.
- You have 5+ years experience designing and implementing highly scalable and reliable REST APIs.
- You are fluent in English (no need to speak French).

- **Tools** — Linear for issue tracking, Github as source control, Postman for API development, Slack for internal communication, and many others.
