The job holder will be a member of the SCOR Europe Legal & Compliance team and will be working in collaboration with other members of the Group Direct Insurance Legal & Compliance function and the worldwide SCOR Legal & Compliance function as appropriate.
**Key duties and responsibilities**
- Provide support and assistance to the SCOR Europe Legal & Compliance team in maintaining an effective and efficient compliance and governance framework addressing and managing the legal and compliance risks of the operations of SCOR Europe SE, including its branches.
- Provide support with the performance and monitoring of actions as set out in the annual Compliance Plan.
- Perform compliance-related checks and controls and contribute to the preparation of reports and the keeping current of relevant databases.
- Perform compliance-related background checks and assessments in the context of the Know-Your-Customer due diligence.
- Assist with the organisation of compliance-related trainings and the creation and dissemination of training materials.
- Investigate specific compliance risks and issues and provide feedback and assessments as requested from time to time.
- Review articles, papers, and publications, distill relevant information for SCOR Europe’s direct insurance activities and assess changes in the relevant legal and regulatory environment (“horizon scanning”).
- Assist with maintaining SCOR-internal databases and compliance tools up to date and support with the implementation of new processes and procedures.
- Provide assistance in corporate or contractual matters as may be requested.
- Participate in or assist with ad-hoc projects.
- Provide any other support to the SCOR Europe Legal & Compliance team, the UK Compliance, Regulatory and Corporate Governance team and/or the EMEA Compliance Officer on legal, regulatory or compliance related matters as may be required in accordance with future developments.
**Required experience & competencies**
**Experience**:
- Ideally 1-2 years’ experience in a (re)insurance company, or a keen interest in developing compliance-related expertise.
- Basic understanding of general legal and compliance matters and governance best practices or strong willingness to learn.
**Personal Competences**:
- Positive, solution oriented “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to self-organize and to run various tasks in parallel.
- Analytic and diligent with strong commitment to accuracy where required.
- Keen interest in understanding content and underlying issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player mentality, being able to plan and execute in a team and establish a network in the organization.
- Ability to quickly adapt to internal changes and new developments, including new electronic tools.
**Required Education**
**Essential**:
- Education as paralegal or Legal Assistant
Desirable:
Progression towards a qualification in Compliance would be an advantage
