The Head of Consumer Marketing has a key role in developing and managing consumer marketing strategies and
activities for Valneva’s above-brand, in-line brands, as well as the launch of our upcoming chikungunya vaccine.
- Work in a matrix environment across brands and at franchise level assisting in the development of
consumer/ travelers strategies and leading implementation of branded and unbranded tactics to maximize
disease awareness, brand awareness, sales, market share and profitability.
- Leading development and manage execution of unbranded DTC (for all countries) and branded DTC (for
US and Canada) to drive business objectives through a variety of channels that may include web, digital
media, CRM, in-office, print, with a strong emphasis in digital communications.
- Responsible for working closely with the Global Brand Leads, omnichannel marketing manager,
communications, medical affairs, market access, business insights, and key local country teams to ensure
execution of one vision for the brand commercially.
- Manage and lead agency relationships to develop our consumer brand strategy and applicable tactics.
- Collaborating with the brand teams to align on goals and strategy across all customers and stakeholders.
- Lead development and execution of multiple marketing projects in a timely manner.
- Tracking and managing the Consumer Marketing budget while collaborating with the team to utilize
resources effectively and efficiently
**Business Partner Across Brands**
- Drives brand strategic decision related to consumers through the appropriate interpretation of data,
insights, and metrics. Acts as the point person for consumer marketing-related questions.
- Contributes to brand planning with integrated consumer insights and implications to consumer strategy.
**Functional Expert**
- Provides consumer marketing expertise to the brand teams and introduces relevant trends and insights
related to consumer behaviors.
- Works closely with external agencies and utilise the most appropriate marketing mixes and methodologies
to meet brand objectives for consumers.
**Co-ordinator and Networker**
- Connects with the brand teams and supports the brand (and above brand) objectives by contributing to
consumer strategy and applicable tactics from brand’s (and above brand’s) point of view.
- Proactively and continuously liaises with local operating companies to provide guidance regarding travelers
/ consumer strategies and tactics at country level as needed, and leverage synergies / avoid duplication,
and share / generate insights across the markets.
- Be compliant, and ensure suppliers also comply, in relation to all relevant codes of practice, guidelines and
SOP
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in consumer marketing in pharmaceutical industry or a
healthcare company.
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (such as marketing, digital
marketing, communications, psychology, behavioral science, business administration,
etc) with a science background preferred.
- Solid understanding of marketing trends and changes in the market landscape and
business model especially from consumer perspectives (understanding current trends
and future outlook).
- Experience working with and managing multiple external agencies including advertising,
digital, communications, database, and internal cross-functional partners
- Significant personal experience and achievements in consumer healthcare or
pharmaceutical marketing space
- Product launch experience preferred
- Experience in vaccines preferred
- Understanding of the vaccines, pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry and changes in
the business model (current trends and future outlook) and marketing landscape
- Leadership skills in order to motivate, influence and provide guidance to peers and
