**MAIN MISSION**

The mission of our Business Division (BD), Technology and Technical Support (T&TS), is to propose to our clients sustainable solutions, which are also efficient in terms of technologies / process, catalysts / adsorbents and services for the whole domains Axens is involved in (Oil & Biomass Hydroprocessing & conversion, Petrochemicals production & purification, Gas and Water Treatment, CO2 capture). T&TS Business Division is responsible for the performance achieved in Axens’ clients units and for maintaining the competitiveness of our offer in a very competitive market and during the energy transition period. Technologist position is at the crossroads of Axens core jobs, mixing technical support to sales, partnership of the performance of our Clients and piloting R&D actions to ensure our long-term competitiveness.

The Furnaces Product Line is responsible for sizing process furnaces on behalf of our customers, and supporting them in the ongoing global energy transition.

**MAIN ACTIVITIES**

Reporting to the Head of the Furnaces Process, Proposals & Services team, you will be working on a range of assignments, from design in the pre-project bid phase up to detailed engineering of the implementation phase, and in some cases even equipment start-up. You will also be called upon to work regularly on assignments on revamp and studies for our customers, in partnership with Services project engineers part of your team.

In the pre-project bid phase, under the responsibility of the assigned proposal manager part of your team, your main task will be to size conventional or electrical furnaces and their equipment, and to assist the sales team in selling furnaces to our refining and petrochemical customers. You are the technical responsible of the furnace design in the proposal team composed of 5 à to 10 people,

You will play an active role in the transformation of our business, helping to decarbonize our industry and introduce new digital services. Via your technical knowledge you will play a key role in developing and promoting our AXENS furnace offer.

To this end, you will work mainly on the following activities:
Thermal, hydraulic and mechanical sizing of direct-heating or electric tube furnaces designed and produced by the company,

Issue specification sheets for furnaces and associated equipment,
- Drawing up lists of required equipment and estimating associated costs,
- Drawing up instrumentation diagrams,

Remote technical support for connected furnaces, acting as a point of contact for the customers under his responsibility, to alert them to any problems or possible improvements identified,
- Technical support for sales staff in the proposal phase, at head office or during meetings with customers.

In the execution project phase, you are the technical responsible of the furnace design in the project team composed of 10 à to 20 people, under the responsibility of the project manager. The project team is mainly composed of colleagues part of other entities of the company. In that frame, your mission is to ensure the development of detailed engineering:

- Drafting of furnace start-up, control and safety procedures,
- Technical support for project managers, at headquarters or during meetings with customers or suppliers.
- Validation of equipment and PLCs (performance tests at suppliers, FAT).

At the end of the project, you may be assigned field missions to assist the customer during start-up (commissioning, dry-out, start-up).
