What You Will Do

Reporting to our CPO, you will be the one responsible for the global TheFork experience: Diners, Restaurants and Payment Experiences. As Product Design Director, you will lead the Product Design team (17 p.) and all its activities, from strategy and research to delivery and optimization.

You’ll manage directly:

- 3 Heads of Product Design, each of them working within a trio (Product Director & Engineering Director).
- 1 Head of UX Research.
- 2 UX Writers / Content designers (you’ll be free to hire a Head of Content Design)
- 1 DesignOps dedicated to Chili, our Design System.

You will handle your team’s career development and skills, aiming for the highest bar of engagement, quality and craft.

You’ll work closely with the CPO and the Directors to create a compellent product strategy and then deliver this strategy.

You’ll actively challenge prioritization, solutions, creativity and quality. You’ll make sure design hypotheses are clearly formulated & tests are well built. You’ll proactively look for and solve high-level issues and opportunities.

You’ll promote team’s design work to drive alignment across the other teams to ensure a consistent experience, mixing basics, satisfiers and delighters. You’ll make sure your teams and the rest of the organization understand that product design is more than building UI or UX. You’ll be the master of evangelization about the role and value of product design (good news, the CPO won’t need to be convinced ;) ).

Who you are
- You have 10+ years of experience in Product Design, and 5+ years of experience as VP Product Design (or equivalent).
- You love design but you accept that you’re no longer a Design expert and more of a human expert. You love to build, mentor and motivate teams & individuals.
- You designed & managed both B2C and B2B (SaaS) experiences. In an ideal world full of rainbows and unicorns, you have also designed payment experiences.
- You have led a diverse, fully or partly remote product design teams of 10 to 25 people.
- You are comfortable building relationships and working closely with Product managers, Engineering and Data, but also with Brand design (with whom you’ll work) & Marketing.
- You’re experienced in design discipline-wide conversations about both strategy and how to improve organization, operations and tools.

Ps: Mastering a gluten, dairy and egg free cookie recipe is also a significant plus for the CPO. (That doesn't mean you have to bring it to the interview to bribe him. But still, it can be cool).

Where you'll be

Ideally, in Paris or in Nantes. As a Director, you’ll be asked to come and visit regularly your team members in Paris, Milan or Turin (even Buenos Aires).
