Group Engineering and Construction department (GEC):
The Group Engineering and Construction department is in charge of all industrial investment projects worldwide. We also support our plants and businesses with expertise in process improvement, material selection, mechanical design, automation, electrical infrastructure...

The Process Engineering department within GEC is deeply involved in all new investments (and there are plenty) as well as in the optimization of our existing assets. **Responsibilities**:
You will take the role of Lead Process Engineer for major industrial investment projects. You will coordinate the activities of a process engineering team, possibly including external contractors, and validate their output. You will also effectively act as project manager during the conceptual and preliminary phases of such projects, enunciating the Functional Requirements that address the Client’s needs, estimating the resource requirements, guiding the project team, ensuring milestones are achieved, and reporting clearly and timely to the Steering Committee.

In addition, depending on organizational requirements, you will have to execute Process engineering studies with objectives as varied as developing a production process for a new material, debottlenecking an existing plant, solving quality issues, addressing a safety concern or reducing environmental impact. To be successful, you will interact smoothly with all engineering disciplines (design office, instrumentation, mechanical, project managers), technical experts (CFD, HSE...), R&I researchers, and site representatives (Operations, Maintenance). Main activities include modeling and simulation ; defining process flow diagrams ; sizing, specifying and selecting equipment (reactors, separation columns, heat exchangers ) ; developing piping & instrumentation diagrams (PID) ; interpreting data ; maintaining and developing the know-how related to Group Processes ; consolidating process design knowledge by developing guidelines or design tools.

You will actively contribute by providing technical insights and expertise, and by proposing viable ideas for addressing challenges. You are capable of quickly vetting ideas for practicality and effectiveness, of validating the best solution based on quantitative evidence, and of making clear recommendations to management for review and implementation.

Finally, you will coach a small team of process engineers. You will help them strengthen their technical and behavioral skills by providing guidance, constructive feedback and development opportunities. You will lead by example and inspire your team to always be at their best.
