L'Institut Charles Sadron (ICS) est un acteur mondial de la recherche dans différents domaines liés aux polymères et systèmes auto-assemblés.

Situé à Cronenbourg, l'ICS est une « Unité Propre » (UPR 22) du CNRS, associé aux instituts CNRS Chimie (rattachement principal) et CNRS Physique (rattachement secondaire). L'Institut Charles Sadron est également associée à l'Université de Strasbourg et à l'INSA de Strasbourg, avec des liens forts avec l'UFR de Physique et Ingénierie, l'ECPM (École européenne d'ingénieurs de chimie, polymères et matériaux) et la Faculté de Chimie. L'Institut est aussi un acteur clef de l'Institut Carnot Mica et de la Fédération de Recherche Matériaux et Nanosciences Grand Est, et impliqué dans de nombreux réseaux nationaux et internationaux.

Description

La société EXCOFFIER recyclage bénéficie de gisements de déchets plastiques rigides collectés par la REP ECOMAISON. Ses compétences et son savoir-faire lui permettent de laver grossièrement et de trier ces différents matériaux polymères. Avec l'appui de la structure VALORPLAST, ce consortium souhaite favoriser l'usage de ces plastiques issus du recyclage post consommation en développant des matières premières régénérées adaptées au marché. Pour y parvenir, VALORPLAST a sollicité l'ICS pour qualifier les différents matériaux polymères recyclés et issus des flux existants. Le périmètre d'intervention de l'ICS s'inscrit dans un projet plus vaste en cinq phases progressives qui doit conduire à l'issue de ce stage au lancement d'un programme scientifique plus ambitieux objet du recrutement d'un ingénieur d'étude.

L'objectif du stage de master proposé doit permettre de valider le procédé de tri mécanique et optique de la société Excoffier recyclage par une série d'analyses sur deux gisements de 7 matières plastiques rigides chacune. Les analyses envisagées et confiées à l'ICS ciblent les propriétés essentielles de chacun de ces 14 matériaux polymères comme l'indice de fluidité (MFI), la densité, les températures caractéristiques (températures de transition vitreuse et de fusion si polymères semi-cristallins), les variations de formulation pour un même matériau polymère comprenant l'identification et la détermination du taux de la charge utilisée ainsi que la quantification des substances réglementées ciblées telles que les métaux lourds qui composent certains pigments et au moins un test mécanique à l'état solide (traction, choc ou flexion trois points).

Les livrables attendus sont des fiches matières regroupant l'ensemble de ces caractéristiques.
