Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group is seeking a Customs Manager to scale up AliExpress' customs and compliance program in Europe focused on digital transformation of e-commerce logistics and fully automated customs clearance processes.

Key Responsibilities:


• Customs Compliance: Ensure adherence to EU customs regulations for B2C and B2B import activities.


• Operational Excellence: Supervise daily customs operation activities including working with internal logistics and compliance teams based in Europe and overseas, customs brokers, customs authorities, 4PL partners, and own Cainiao's smart sorting centers across Europe to ensure all B2C and B2B shipments meet KPIs, compliance and cost requirements.


• Process Optimization: Drive improvements in customs workflows, automation, and risk management


• Commercial Focus: Manage supplier contract negotiation process to drive cost reduction while meeting business demands and minimizing risk.


• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with customs authorities, logistics partners, and internal departments such as Finance, Billing, Legal, Customer Service, Quality Control, Risk, Goverment Relations, Procurement, Last Mile, among others.

What Are We Looking For:


• Degree in Business, Customs, International Trade, Supply Chain or similar.


• +5 years of related working experience


• Experience in Project management and IT-related project experience preferred.


• Strong knowledge of EU customs regulations for B2C and B2B shipments including customs guarantee and bonded warehouse processes.


• Practical experience in KPI customs clearance monitoring and ability to conduct data analysis and produce data-driven and cost-efficient solutions.


• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.


• Excellent communication skills in French, English (Chinese language is a plus).


• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment where change is the only constant. When facing difficulties and setbacks from change, you can adapt yourself, and positively influence and motivate the team.
