General Job Description

The head of yacht operation will be responsible for the overall supervision of the fleet of yachts, supervising daily activities, compliance, operation, budgets and reporting.

She/He will be responsible of a team of highly skilled specialists: yacht managers, crew managers and administrators, compliance manager and yacht administrators.

Responsibility to provide reporting and assistance to the clients as/when required.

Part of the role will also involve direct operational management of certain yachts, as primary point of contact between the vessel and the Owner's representatives.

She/He will work in the South of France or Hamburg, Germany office under direct supervision and reporting to the Managing Director.

Requirements
  • Sea-going experience in a senior deck rank position (yacht or passenger ship).
  • Ideally track record experience in yacht management, shore based.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years' overall experience.
    • Expert knowledge of ISM/ISPS, SOLAS, MLC & STCW. Previous auditing and surveying experience is a must.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, diplomacy skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels (dealing with Owners, Captains, suppliers and various stakeholders).
  • Effective solution finding, autonomous, disciplined and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Able to perform under stressful situations, involving multicultural environment and diverse topics.
  • General technical knowledge of large yachts and their operation.
  • Excellent knowledge of budget aspects and financial reporting.
  • Team leader and team player.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) and proficiency in other languages will be an advantage.
  • Good sense of humour.
