Job title: Mining Director

Reporting line: Group Sales Director

Africa is a key hub for global mining development, with strong demand for strategic minerals (gold, copper, cobalt, iron, bauxite, lithium). Heavy investments create both strong competition and unique opportunities. In this context, the Mining Director drives the Group's Mining strategy and results.

Our client, a leading supplier of Heavy Equipment and Machinery, has significantly growth its Mining business over the last 10 years and has a vacant position in this Business Unit.

Main Responsibilities

- Define and implement the Mining business development strategy.
- Ensure financial performance: growth, profitability, market share.
- Develop in-depth expertise of African mining markets.
- Maintain and expand strategic relationships with Caterpillar Mining and key customers.
- Ensure functional coordination of the Mining business across all subsidiaries.
- Represent the Group in negotiations and industry forums.

Key Activities

- Major accounts development: prospecting, negotiation, strategic contracts.
- Implementation of management tools and methods.
- Monitoring and optimization of operational performance.
- Management of cross-functional projects (digitalization, embedded technologies).
- Coaching and coordination of local teams.
- Ensure strong relationship with Caterpillar and strategic partners.

Key Interfaces

Internal: Subsidiary Directors, BU Directors, After-Sales Managers, Mining Sales teams.
External: Key mining customers, Caterpillar Mining, suppliers, regional partners.

Performance Indicators

- Achievement of financial targets

- Customer portfolio & market share growth
- Key account satisfaction
- Subsidiaries' operational performance
- Local talent development

Desired Profile

Education: Master's degree in Engineering, Business or Management. Fluent English required.
Experience: Minimum 10 years in mining or industrial sector, with major account management.
Key skills: Leadership, strategic vision, negotiation, financial management, cross-cultural communication.
