A fast-growing deep-tech industrial company developing advanced in-orbit propulsion solutions for satellites is seeking a
Head of Engineering with a strong background preferably in Electronic or Space Systems
. Their technologies are already flying on numerous international missions, and they are now entering a phase of large-scale production with new product lines coming to market.
With more than 100 propulsion systems already launched and a rapidly expanding global customer base, the company is scaling its operations and strengthening its technical leadership.
They are now hiring a Head of Engineering to lead engineering operations and drive execution of their technical roadmap.
Mission
The Head of Engineering will oversee all engineering activities across the company and ensure successful delivery of the technical roadmap.
This person will manage and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, oversee the full product development lifecycle, and ensure the reliability, quality, and performance of their propulsion systems. The role also includes leading in-orbit demonstration efforts and managing the development and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role in a fast-scaling industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company's engineering function and ensure delivery of the technical roadmap
- Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team
- Plan and execute in-orbit demonstration missions in coordination with operational teams
- Deliver technical documentation, qualification packages, and hardware systems for industrialization
- Build and maintain the company's technical knowledge base and documentation standards
- Provide system-level expertise to support cross-functional needs
- Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, and Product teams to ensure on-time delivery
- Oversee product development cycles and ensure alignment with product strategy
- Report progress, risks, and priorities to the CTO and leadership team
Candidate Profile
- 8–12 years of engineering experience in aerospace, satellite systems, electric propulsion, high-tech hardware, or similar deep-tech industries
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex products from concept to industrialization
- Strong systems-engineering mindset and multidisciplinary collaboration experience
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on problem-solving
- Comfortable with high-stakes milestones (qualification, launch campaigns, in-orbit demonstrations, industrialization)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams
- Motivated by technical innovation and fast-growth industrial environments
- Fluent in English; French is a plus
