Responsibilities

Under the responsibility of BioInt's biodiversity consultant, the intern will contribute to the following projects:

·       Biodiversity Footprint Assessment (BFA) for companies and financial institutions (listed and unlisted assets including private equity, real estate, sovereign assets, etc.), and contribution to the following tasks:

o  Data collection

o  Calculations

o  Analyses and drafting of deliverables.

·       Publications of
thought leaderships
and literature review on subjects about biodiversity impacts and dependencies (in particular biodiversity-related physical risks)

·       Support for the development of internal databases (particularly on Monitoring, Reporting and Verification tools)

·       Biodiversity credits: support for the design of a procedure for issuing biodiversity credits, development of promotional documentation relating to credits, and possible support for methodological developments in the calculation of biodiversity credits.

A more in-depth subject can be proposed to the intern to accommodate for the needs of the internship thesis, depending on their preferences and the firm's needs:

·       Support for the drafting of a thought leadership piece on physical risks related to biodiversity (a major component of nature-related financial risks), focusing in particular on how to identify, map and quantify these risks (literature review, interviews, etc.)..

·       Development of a database on Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) methods – eDNA, drones, camera traps, satellites, etc. – through the update and enrichment of available data (literature review and scientific knowledge monitoring), design and use (interviews) of a questionnaire for MRV providers (e.g. NatureMetrics, Pivotal, etc.) in order to feed into current data and associated ratings, linking to other relevant repositories or datasets.

What we are looking for

·       Master's degree (in progress) in Engineering or Business school or University

·       English C1 minimum on the European CEFR scale.

·       Appreciated for your curiosity, ability to analyse and learn quickly, rigour, team spirit and communication skills.

·       Knowledge of environmental sciences, biodiversity, LCA, agronomy, industry, input-output models, biodiversity impact & dependency tools (GBS, IBAT, ENCORE, etc.) and R all welcome
