About ChessBar

ChessBar is redefining how people connect through chess—outside of clubs and tournaments, and inside the warm, social atmosphere of bars, cafés, and local venues.

We host weekly community chess meetups across cities, making chess accessible, inclusive, and truly social.

We're expanding quickly, and we're looking for passionate ambassadors to grow the ChessBar community.

Role Overview

As a ChessBar Ambassador, you are the local face of ChessBar in your city.

Your mission:

  • Build and grow a vibrant chess community
  • Partner with bars and cafés to host meetups
  • Ensure awesome weekly events where players feel welcome and excited to return

If you love chess, enjoy meeting people, and want to contribute to a growing international movement, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

  1. Develop ChessBar Partner Bars

  2. Identify and contact potential partner venues

  3. Pitch the ChessBar concept using our decks & scripts
  4. Onboard bars on the platform

  5. Maintain warm relationships with managers and staff

  6. Grow the Local Player Community

  7. Promote weekly meetups on Instagram and Facebook groups

  8. Engage players through simple community messages
  9. Share local photos/videos to boost visibility

  10. Encourage an inclusive, welcoming culture for all skill levels

  11. Track and Improve Local Performance

  12. Monitor attendance, new players, and recurring participation

  13. Optimize which bars work best
  14. Use simple tools (Google Analytics, internal dashboards)

What We're Looking For

  • A love for creating social link
  • Strong communication and social skills
  • Organized, proactive, and reliable
  • Comfortable reaching out to bars and communities
  • Able to represent the ChessBar brand with passion and creativity
  • Experience in community building, events, hospitality, or student associations is a plus
