About BlueSeeds

BlueSeeds is a social enterprise based in Bordeaux, France, dedicated to making marine conservation more effective and sustainable and supporting key marine conservation stakeholders, such as Marine Protected Area (MPA) managers and NGO representatives, but also small-scale fishers and coastal communities.

We support them to co-design and develop innovative financial solutions that can be a lever for both socio-environmental equity and thriving marine and coastal ecosystems. We are a multidisciplinary team with skills in economics, marine biology, finance, project management, law, international relations and pedagogy.

We are now seeking a talented and motivated person, with great project management skills and a good understanding of the marine and coastal environment. Together with our Network Coordinator you will work mainly on
the partnership project Together for the Med
, and provide occasional support on
the Pelagos Consortium project
.

About Together for the Med

Together for the Med (TGFM) is a regional partnership uniting more than 50 organisations based in 15 different Mediterranean countries and committed to strengthening marine conservation.

BlueSeeds, with the support of IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation, coordinates the partnership to develop joint projects and promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing. We need extra support for the last year of our 3-year funding cycle and for developing the partnership roadmap for our post-2026 funding cycle. Our work revolves around two strategies: on one hand the promotion of small-scale fisheries ecological and financial sustainability and on the other hand the strengthening of marine protection by improving their management effectiveness and the strengthening of their level of protection, towards highly and fully protected areas.

About the Pelagos Consortium

Started in November 2025, the Pelagos Consortium project aims to enhance the effectiveness of the Pelagos Sanctuary — a transboundary marine protected area between France, Italy, and Monaco — in protecting cetaceans with an ecosystem-based approach. BlueSeeds coordinates the stakeholder engagement pillar, focusing on mobilising private and local actors such as ports, shipping companies, marinas, municipalities, scientists, and fishers, and exploring innovative financing mechanisms to sustain marine conservation efforts.

Job responsibilities

Together for the Med (70 to 80%)

• Coordinate the partnership knowledge-sharing activities, through the organisation and facilitation of online meetings, webinars and possibly exchange visits between partners of different countries.
• Support the internal communication and collaboration within our network through regular partnership updates via email or online meetings, and organising our annual regional inperson workshop (planned around May 2026).
• With our Communication Manager and thanks to the support of external consultants, coordinate the external communication of the partnership to enhance its visibility towards key Mediterranean players (decision-makers, regional institutions, regional or national NGOs and academia, businesses and funders). This will include the development of side-events/participation in two major Mediterranean events in 2026 (e.g. European Maritime Days in Cyprus in May 2026)
• Support the management of a technical assistance and small grant programme for Highly Protected Areas in the Mediterranean. This will include: participating in the selection of promising HPAs sites; participating in the site diagnosis organising the support programme with external consultants and BlueSeeds staff; coordinating workshops and capacity-building events for MPA managers; monitoring the good implementation of actions on site; ensuring proper reporting by MPA managers and consolidating the lessons learnt in a capitalisation report.

Pelagos Consortium (20 to 30%)

• Support the development of two Communities of Practice (CoP) within the Pelagos Sanctuary, a first CoP based on existing networks of MPAs, coastal cities and regions, and a second CoP of maritime stakeholders including shipping companies, ports and marinas, with the support of Green Marine Europe.
• Help organize and facilitate workshops, knowledge-sharing events and consultations within these CoP.

The profile we're looking for

• 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in environmental project management or international cooperation, ideally in the Mediterranean region.
• Strong organisational skills, ability to run project autonomously with great attention to details.
• Great interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the diverse team at BlueSeeds and to engage various stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and writing skills in English; proficiency in French is required.
• An additional Mediterranean language is an asset
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, marine affairs, sustainable development, or a related field.
