About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support our finance operations on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate is rigorous, curious, structured and able to deliver reliable numbers with minimal supervision.

This role is suitable for someone with 0–3 years of experience who wants to grow exposure to real-life accounting and basic financial analysis.

Main Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Daily entry of financial transactions into accounting software
  • Accounts receivable & accounts payable processing
  • Supplier invoice control & posting
  • Expense classifications and coding
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Petty cash reconciliation
  • Maintenance of general ledger
  • Managing monthly accruals & prepayments
  • Preparing monthly closing checklists

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain digital documentation of all financial documents
  • Support basic statutory filings (e.g. VAT, PAYE prep support – if applicable)
  • Liaise with auditors or senior accountant when needed

Basic Financial Analysis

  • Extracting data for monthly dashboards
  • Variance analysis vs budget/forecast (basic level)
  • Cost allocation & cost center tracking
  • Support in KPI monitoring (cash burn, margin, AR ageing, etc.)

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with operations and procurement to collect missing documents
  • Suggest process improvements to ensure data accuracy & better workflow

Requirements

  • Degree / diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Basic knowledge of IFRS or standard accounting principles
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills (lookup, pivot table basics)
  • Experience with any accounting software system is a plus
  • Reliable internet connection if working remotely
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail

  • Power BI / data visualization interest
