Collaborate with school teams and families to offer personalized guidance and deliver SESI's own evidence-based learning and instructional models, as well as positive behavioral interventions and support framework. The SESI Team Lead supports the delivery of specialized educational services to students with exceptional needs by overseeing classroom staff, supporting instruction, ensuring compliance with student plans (IEPs/504s), and fostering a safe, structured, and therapeutic learning environment. The Team Leader serves as a role model, coach, and liaison between the classroom team and school leadership.

• Instructional Support:

  • Support implementation of individualized instructional and behavioral strategies.

  • Model effective classroom management techniques.

  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons aligned with students' IEP goals and academic standards.

• Staff Supervision & Development:

  • Coach and mentor classroom staff (e.g., Behavior Technicians, Teaching Assistants).

  • Provide feedback and support for professional growth.

  • Assist in onboarding and training of new team members.

• Compliance & Documentation:

  • Support accurate and timely data collection on academic and behavioral goals.

  • Ensure team adherence to IEP accommodations, behavior intervention plans, and safety protocols.

  • Assist with reporting incidents, writing progress reports, and maintaining records.

• Behavior Management:

  • Implement and monitor behavior management systems.

  • Support staff with de-escalation and crisis management techniques as needed.

  • Serve as a key responder in behavioral emergencies.

• Communication & Collaboration:

  • Act as liaison between classroom staff and program leadership.

  • Communicate regularly with families, service providers, and district representatives.

  • Participate in team meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development sessions.

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field (required).

• Experience working with students with special needs or behavioral challenges.

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to model and reinforce positive behavioral interventions.

• CPI or Safety-Care training (preferred or willing to obtain).

• Prior experience in a SESI-operated program or similar setting (preferred).

• Ability to run short distances and move swiftly in response to student needs, including bending, kneeling, and crouching.

• Ability to lift and assist students with mobility challenges, often requiring the handling of up to 50 pounds or more.

• Skill in managing fine motor tasks, such as helping students with writing, manipulating small objects, or using adaptive devices.

• Ability to operate a computer or tablet for up to 8 hours daily.

• Capacity to notice and respond to non-verbal cues from students.

• Capacity to remain calm and composed during physically and emotional demanding situations, ensuring student safety and well-being.
