After five years of steady growth, without major changes, SLS are now aligning their global front-end 'Sales and Service' organisation to respond to increased customer demand and to sustain future growth within all three markets: Commercial Marine, Navy and Industrial. With a core strategy to increase market share in Newbuild and to maximise Lifecycle growth, SLS have ambitious business targets for the coming years, with a long-range plan that forecasts organic growth in Sales from EUR 200M to EUR 350M by 2030.

As a part of this exciting transformation, we are looking for SLS Sales Support (France and African territories).

In this position, you are part of the SLS Area Sales team in the global SLS Sales & Delivery organisation. The SLS Area Sales team delivers business growth in the Commercial Marine market via a proactive sales approach focused on ship owners, ship management, shipyards and partners targeting new build projects and life cycle vessel support.

As the Sales Support you will be active member in our Sales Team and working together with SLS Sites, Sales Managers and Field Service team to ensure first class customer experience. You will be responsible for sales support functions for commercial and naval marine business in France and Africa area. In this position you are reporting to Regional Manager, Sales (Africa, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal Benelux), and you are preferably located in Marseille, France.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Generate customer specific solutions, specifications and quotations according to needs of Sales, for SLS portfolio for New Build and Aftermarket business
  • Bid management
  • Evaluate inquires and register/maintain opportunity information in CRM
  • Configure solution according to defined needs
  • Preparing cost calculations according to directives and agreed targets
  • Evaluate technical and environmental risks of the solution.
  • Ensure that response time for sales inquiries / request /orders are met.
  • Perform technical assistance to Sales and customers.
  • Participate in relevant sales meetings with customers when required.
  • Publishing sales materials
  • Organise a hand over meeting with involved parties

Main requirements in this role are:

  • Wartsila SLS product & system knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of Marine Industry
  • Familiar with using of Microsoft WORD/ EXCEL/ PPT/ CRM / AUTOCAD / SAP
  • Fluent in French & English

In this role, your success will be measured by:

  • Order Intake, Sales & Margin for lifecycle and newbuild packages in your respective Area.
  • Area Flash accuracy - in Order Intake, Sales, Commercial margin, etc.
  • Area Opportunity and Leads management.
  • Engagement and participation of the regional team on WCI requirements.
