Your mission:

The mission of the R&D Search and Evaluation team is to support the execution of the Group's strategy by identifying drug development projects and R&D technologies that will feed the Group's R&D pipeline and platforms, while establishing Servier as a Partner of Choice in its global ecosystem. 

This position represents a unique opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in Business Development while remaining close to science, with strong ambitions to bring the best treatment solutions to patients suffering from severe diseases and with few therapeutic options. 

The position offers the possibility to join an international team connected to Boston, Copenhagen and Beijing offices. 

Reporting to the Search & Evaluation innovation sourcing project manager, the main tasks of the trainee will be to: 

External Innovation/ Competitive Intelligence : 

- Search for innovative therapeutic or techno opportunities to support Servier's projects in oncology and in neurology, using various sources of information like asset & financial databases, publications, patents, press releases, etc.

- Provide understanding of the life science ecosystem in key geographical areas in Europe, US and Asia (identification of clusters, incubators, key academic centers, etc...)  

- Keep the S&E team up to date of emerging biotechs and milestones reached (patents, clinical trials, target disclosure, fund raising, awards…) 

Business Development : 

- Support External Innovation needs (BD and S&E teams) by providing a benchmark of deals within Servier's strategy  

- Preparation and follow-up of partnering conferences (eg BIOEurope, BIOUS)

Your profile :

We are looking for a motivated student with an interest in science (a previous experience in a research laboratory would be appreciated as the candidate will interact with researchers at Servier) and curious to know more about Business Development activities.  Training: you are preparing an M2, ideally with an Innovation Management option, in a 'Research Innovation and Development', scientific (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, etc.) or 'Biopharmaceutical Management' field; you are student from engineering school with a specialization in health. Hardskills: ability to manage a large set of data and create datavisualization to support decision making. Knowledge of scientific databases and monitoring tools would be an additional advantage (Scopus, Orbit, PubMed, Crawler). Ideally you have experience with PowerBI dashboard. Softskills: team spirit, assertiveness, ability to work in a multicultural environment, interest in databases (patents, publications, financial data, etc.). A critical and innovative mind, with the ability to question existing approaches. You can present your ideas clearly and concisely and to communicate them in layman's terms. Ability to manage several tasks and projects simultaneously. Proactivity, initiative and autonomy.
