Spark Cleantech is a fast-growing and innovative start-up developing a breakthrough process that
replaces the combustion of hydrocarbons
in high-temperature industrial furnaces and in materials production with an alternative that is
not only fully decarbonised, but also economically competitive
and requires only minimal adaptation to existing industrial processes.

Following the successful deployment of an industrial pilot on a client site in 2024 and a major funding round in 2025, we are now building our first industrial standard.

Your Role
As part of the Technology & Product department and reporting to the Technology & Product Director, your main mission will be to support Spark's technological development and the building of its industrial demonstrator by leading the development of Spark's electrical and power electronic systems.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• As team lead, leading the specification and design work for Plasma Generators (power electronics), in close coordination with other technical teams, in particular torch teams.
• Supervising all electrical work within the product (HV/LV cabling, electrical interfaces, junction boxes, cabinets, etc.) and testing equipment.
• Ensuring that the team's deliverables are consistent with the schedul and comply with the system technical requirements.
• Specifying and designing equipment to be manufactured by external suppliers.
• Managing and supervising subcontractors and service providers, and ensuring the quality of their physical and documentary deliverables.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of equipment validation and acceptance plans.
• Supporting Spark's intellectual property strategy through active patent monitoring and the protection of new inventions.

Your Profile

• Engineer in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics, graduated from a top-tier engineering school, ideally holding a PhD
• At least 10 years of experience in industrial power electronics development within demanding electrical environments (ATEX, EMC)
• Strong expertise in electrical and power electronics design
• Solid knowledge of European regulations and applicable standards
• Proven planning capability with a strong results-oriented mindset
• Experience in managing teams and external suppliers
• Fluent English is mandatory
• Open-minded and team player
