Editorial consultant

HOLLIS & BEAN (www.hollisbean.com) is seeking a full-time communication consultant to work in our editorial team:

-CONSULTING: work daily with a variety of clients in different industries to understand and define their communications objectives and advise them on appropriate content strategies and deliverables

-CONTENT CREATION: plan and produce content for a range of channels and media (e.g., web, social media, video, magazines, newsletters); write and edit text in English based on source material in French or English; storyboard videos and infographics

-PROJECT MANAGEMENT: liaise daily with multiple clients to ensure projects run smoothly, to budget and to client and agency expectations; coordinate and brief designers, developers and writers; manage project quotes and invoicing

The successful candidate will be a native-standard English speaker with:

• 2-3 years’ experience in a communications agency or in-house communications function

• Excellent interpersonal skills combined with genuine enthusiasm for helping clients reach their goals; someone who is team-minded and respectful of suppliers

• Very strong skills in writing and editing

• Project management skills, including the ability to track multiple deliverables to keep projects running on time and on budget and the ability to work autonomously

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Capacity to manage a team of writers, designers and developers to achieve project aims

• Good general knowledge and an inquiring and analytical mind

• Enthusiasm toward developing a thorough understanding of our clients’ business

• Capacity to understand new ideas rapidly and create relevant, stimulating content that engages the intended readership

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (English, Economics / Business, Journalism, Marketing & Communications)

• Spoken and written French

All written material is produced in English, but you will be required to liaise with clients and suppliers in French.

The agency specializes in content for B2B companies. An appetite to learn about sometimes complex industries is essential. Existing knowledge of finance, energy, sustainability or general business management would be a bonus.

The salary range given corresponds to different levels of experience and skill, as assessed during the interview process.

H&B offers a transparent salary and bonus structure:

-€35-38k gross salary + bonus with <2 years’ experience

-€38-42k gross salary + bonus with 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role

-€45-48k gross salary + bonus with 5-8 years’ experience in a similar role

For team members within the agency, remuneration is re-evaluated regularly based on measurable skills.

We then invite candidates to a 10-minute interview over Teams with a member of the team (stage 1). Successful candidates are then invited to an on-site writing test (stage 2) and two interviews in person (stages 3 and 4) with the agency’s leadership team

We do not ask you to submit a covering letter; in lieu, we may ask you to write a short summary of your impressions of the agency and the role following the second interview.
