About Contexte
Since 2013, Contexte has covered and monitored EU and French policy, decoding the complex machinery of lawmaking and the power dynamics of political influence. With a team of 130 experts, including more than 60 journalists across Brussels and Paris, Contexte provides deep political information to more than 17,000 public affairs professionals every day.
Contexte is fully independent. No sponsors, no external shareholders—just trustworthy, subscription-funded journalism coupled with in-house policy monitoring tools. The company is 100% employee-owned.
Why this mission
Contexte is opening new verticals, shipping new features, growing in Europe and building a stronger brand footprint. Marketing needs a senior creative who can hold the visual line across every campaign that comes out of it, and produce the work hands-on.
What you will do
You sit inside the Marketing team and work closely with the design team.
You will:
Lead the creative and production work for our new vertical and tool launches
Work closely with the Brand team to create impact through marketing campaigns:
Turn marketing messages into clear visual concepts: promise, proof points, pacing, points of focus.
Design and adapt multi-platform digital formats: social, ads, email, display, landing pages.
Design and refine landing pages, from hierarchy and spacing through to proof points and conversion flow.
Build and maintain visual systems that hold together across campaigns and keep their edge as they evolve.
Produce variations with Marketing and analyse the results, with a real test-and-learn habit.
Preferred experience
What we are looking for
7+ years in marketing design, digital art direction or brand design. This is not your first senior role.
Experience in a creative agency, or in a structured, campaign-driven marketing team (Brand, PMM, Growth).
Hands-on experience running international digital campaigns. A multi-channel or hybrid background counts for a lot, as does exposure to multi-country or multicultural teams.
Systemic design: visual systems that stay coherent over time, and clean, reliable production across every format.
Marketing concepting and user journeys: structuring assets and landing pages that read easily and are built to convert.
Autonomy. You frame a topic, make your choices, stand by them, and set out your criteria clearly enough to get people aligned.
Fluent in English and French (C1 level minimum for both)
Terms
Freelance, from 3 to 5 days a week
Period date: early October ; 3-month renewable contract
Bonus: Two days a week at Brussels or Paris office
Daily rate open to discussion, based on experience.
Recruitment process
To apply
Send your portfolio and a few lines about yourself. We would like to see two or three campaigns you took from concept through to production, and what you would do differently on them now.
Shortlisted candidates meet the Brand team and the Product Design team.
