Within Wandercraft’s Whole Body Control team, you will develop control algorithms for exoskeletons and humanoid robots, from mathematical formulation and simulation to deployment and validation on real robots.
You will work on challenging robotics problems involving locomotion, manipulation, multi-contact control and whole-body motion generation, with a strong focus on robustness, performance and real-time execution.
Reporting to the Head of Whole Body Control, you will work closely with other control engineers as well as the mechanical, electronics, perception and software teams.
Depending on your background and interests, your work may include:
Develop whole-body control algorithms for floating-base robots
Design control strategies using linear and nonlinear control, MPC and NMPC
Develop online and offline trajectory optimization and motion generation algorithms
Design and improve whole-body trajectory tracking for locomotion and manipulation
Model robot dynamics, contacts and interactions with the environment
Develop or integrate state-estimation algorithms using sensor data
Explore learning-based approaches, including reinforcement learning, when relevant
Write efficient, maintainable software in C++ and Python
Test, debug and validate algorithms directly on exoskeletons and humanoid robots
Contribute to the architecture and long-term technical direction of the control stack
Preferred experience
Diploma: Master’s or PhD degree in Robotics, Controls, Optimization, Applied mathematics, or related scientific field
Required experience: Hands-on experience with robotics, control, motion generation, trajectory optimization or related algorithmic development, through industry, research or significant academic projects.
Skills:
Programming (C++/Python) - Autonomous level
Algorithmics - Autonomous level
Robotics (kinematics, dynamics, working with sensor data) - Autonomous level
Control theory - Autonomous level
