As Scientist you will conduct epigenetics/epigenomics experiments for extending the knowledges of the HERMES vectors to develop new DNA medicine products.
You will drive hands-on execution on these projects. The role advances novel therapeutic products from early discovery through preclinical readiness in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment. This position requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to operate independently.
Directly reporting to the Principal Scientist, you will:
Manage the design, optimization, production, and characterization of new nrHSV-1 viral vectors
Design, execute and optimize a variety of laboratory experiments independently in vectorology, molecular and cellular biology, and epigenomics including but not limited to bulk and single cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq ChIP-seq, Hi-C
Analyze data, interpret results, and draw conclusions
Independently author, review, and ensure the quality and regulatory compliance of scientific documentation, maintaining comprehensive documentation standards and full experimental traceability. Prepare and review scientific reports, technical documentation, and patent applications
Collaborate closely within the Research team and the other teams
Contribute to technical discussions, innovation activities, and continuous improvement of the HERMES platform
Apply agile ways of working to effectively prioritise activities, make strategic decisions, and adapt to changing business and project needs
Present scientific results and scientific monitoring insight to cross-functional teams, supporting knowledge sharing and strategic decision-making
Present posters at scientific conferences.
Preferred experience
PhD in Epigenetics, Molecular Biology, Virology, or a related discipline
Professional experience in industry experience
Strong experiences in Epigenetics, Epigenomics, as well as genomics and transcriptomics, proven track record in epigenetics and discovery research
Knowledge of quality compliance, scientific documentation standards and experimental traceability frameworks, with a strong commitment to data integrity, quality systems, and regulatory compliance
Expertise in AAV or HSV-based gene delivery or related viral vector systems is highly preferred
Communication skills to present results to colleagues during cross-functional team meetings
English (spoken and written)
