The Technology & Technical Support Business Division (TTS) is hiring:
Internship
- Process Engineering – CO2 Balance and OPEX Estimation
Location:
Rueil-Malmaison Axens Presentation Axens group provides a complete range of solutions for the conversion of oil and biomass to cleaner fuels, the production and purification of major petrochemical intermediates, the chemical recycling of plastics, all-natural gas treatment and conversion options along with water treatment and carbon capture. The offer includes technologies, equipment, furnaces, modular units, catalysts, adsorbents and related services. Axens is also specialized in Carbon Capture. Axens is ideally positioned to cover the entire value chain, from feasibility study to unit start-up and followup throughout the entire unit life cycle. This unique position ensures the highest level of performance with a reduced environmental footprint. Axens global offer is based on highly trained human resources, modern production facilities and an extended global network for industrial, technical support & commercial services. Axens combines the friendliness of a company on a human scale and the influence of a multinational environment whose customers are spread over more than 85 countries. Axens is an IFP Group company. Context Our Technology and Technical Support (T&TS) Business Division (BD) is responsible for supporting sales by providing advanced technologies and catalysts through technical proposals, as well as assistance services for catalyst loading and post–start-up unit monitoring across all Axens business areas (Oil & Biomass conversion, Petrochemicals production & purification, Gas and Water Treatment, CO2 capture). More specifically, the objective of the “Responsible Hydro processing” Product Line is to deliver sustainable, highperformance solutions for producing clean fuels and petrochemical intermediates from petroleum (particularly Diesel and VGO cuts) or any other carbon source, including bio-based feedstocks and those derived from the circular economy. Our product line is distinctive in its mastery of a broad portfolio of technology platforms capable of processing the alternative feedstocks that refineries of the future will use to support the energy transition. Tasks and activities We are offering an internship focused on developing a tool to estimate utility consumption for our hydrotreating units in operation, based on operating data collected from our clients. The tool will enable us to perform OPEX calculations and CO₂ balance assessments, thereby supporting our clients in optimizing their operations. It will also serve as a client-facing benchmarking solution, with the goal of identifying and proposing actionable ways to improve energy performance. Key project steps
- Parameter identification and experimental design: Identify the key parameters influencing utility consumption across the different pieces of equipment and define a design-of-experiments approach.
- Simulation-based database development: Build a simulation-generated database that will be used to develop statistical models.
- Digital implementation and visualization: Deploy the tool on our digital platform and create dashboards for visualization and value delivery. Profile
- Currently in your 3rd year of engineering school specializing in Process/Chemical Engineering you are looking for a six-months internship.
- You are interested in process simulation tasks, digital tools and energy efficiency. Ideally know how to use ProII simulation software.
- A good level of English is mandatory.
- You are curious, eager to learn, proactive, a clear communicator with good listening skills, collaborative and receptive to feedback, adaptable and solution oriented. At Axens, we challenge stereotypes and clichés. It is actually the foundation of our commitment to Diversity Equity & Inclusion. Only your talent and personality matter to us”
