- Development of process engineering design tools (F/M) Localisation : Rueil-Malmaison Axens Presentation: Axens group provides a complete range of solutions for the conversion of oil and biomass to cleaner fuels, the production and purification of major petrochemical intermediates, the chemical recycling of plastics, all-natural gas treatment and conversion options along with water treatment and carbon capture. The offer includes technologies, equipment, furnaces, modular units, catalysts, adsorbents and related services. Axens is also specialized in Carbon Capture. Axens is ideally positioned to cover the entire value chain, from feasibility study to unit start-up and follow-up throughout the entire unit life cycle. This unique position ensures the highest level of performance with a reduced environmental footprint. Context: Process Department is part of Project Operations Business Division (POP). It aims at providing Basic Engineering Design Package (PDP) of various technologies (clean fuels, plastic, biofuels, etc.) or to support project department in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) or EPF projects (Engineering, Construction, Fabrication) of modular units. The intern will join the process engineering team of process department specializing in FEED and EPF execution for modularized units. During this period, you will also work with OPEX (Operation Excellence) Department which in charge of supporting POP divisions by developing new design tools. Tasks and activities: Main tasks can be summarized as:
- to develop practical tools to improve the execution of modular engineering projects. Your main responsibility will be to design and develop Excel-based applications that facilitate detailed hydraulic calculations, line sizing, and other key engineering tasks used during project execution,
- to collaborate closely with experienced process engineers to identify standardization opportunities and improve efficiency through the automation and digitalization of routine calculations,
- to relay user feedback from process engineers to capture requirements and confirm solution adequacy,
- to test and validate your tools on an active project and assess their impact on project execution,
- to develop user guidelines to support the use of your tools,
- to perform training / webinar sessions to explain your tools to process engineers. Profile: Currently, in your 2 nd or 3rd year of engineering school specializing in Process/Chemical Engineering, you are looking for a 4-month minimum internship: ➢ You are curious and open-minded, eager to learn, and want to build your skills in process engineering, ➢ You are willing to contribute to the development of the process department in modular projects, ➢ You are comfortable with MS Office (mostly Excel, and possibly VBA), ➢ Knowledge of fluid flow calculations related to piping systems, such as pressure drop calculations, would be a plus, ➢ You can work in English (content, meetings), ➢ You demonstrate rigor and logical thinking "Chez Axens, nous remettons en question les stéréotypes et les clichés.
