Claim Expert is a hands-on manager of individual higher exposure/complicated claims; expected to regularly conduct outside claim audits, market, and client visits; initiate regular contact with underwriters, actuaries and accounting staff; and able to review and analyse overall loss portfolios. The role will primarily focus on motor bodily injury claims across the France and Belux markets. A comfort level with technology is required as the digitalization of our departmental operations is a key part of our corporate strategy. Whilst many meetings can be conducted remotely, the role will require business travel from time to time. The position reports to the Head of Reinsurance P&C France/Belux claims & Specialty lines based in Paris. The position is based in Paris. Responsibilities Key duties and responsibilities
• Approving financial transactions on claims within authority. This includes assessing and evaluating liability, coverage, and quantum, as well as establishing and updating reserves (as appropriate).
• Manage the lifecycle of a claim to achieve an optimal outcome for Scor, including the positioning of reserves, engagement of third parties, attendance at market meetings
• Collaborating and assisting in the management of assigned accounts, often with other internal department representatives and providing marketing support relating to cedents, insured and/or brokers.
• Conducting claims audits.
• Developing the ability to analyse loss and expense trends on Bodily injury claims.
• Keeping abreast of claim and industry developments/trends in order to maintain a high level of expertise.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of plans to improve results.
• Participating in projects as required. Qualifications Required experience & competencies
• Min 7 years of experience in large bodily injury claim handling.
• Expertise in managing a caseload of complex claims.
• Ability to manage and organize and analyse data.
• Can provide effective representation of SCOR’s interests in the market and engage appropriately with underwriters and other internal stakeholders.
• Comfort level with technology. Expertise in main Office software
• Good organizational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• High degree of accountability, both personally and within the team.
• Team player, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Required Education University/College degree (or academic equivalent) in law/ insurance. Strong interpersonal skills as the position require building a solid network internally & externally.
