Be part of the solution at Technip Energies and embark on a one-of-a-kind journey. You will be helping to develop cutting-edge solutions to solve real-world energy problems.
About us
Technip Energies is a global technology and engineering powerhouse. With leadership position in LNG, hydrogen, ethylene, sustainable chemistry, and CO2 management, we are contributing to the development of critical markets such as energy, energy derivatives, decarbonization, and circularity. Our complementary business segments, Technology, Products and Services (TPS) and Project Delivery, turn innovation into scalable and industrial reality. Through collaboration and excellence in execution, our 17,000+ employees across 34 countries are fully committed to bridging prosperity with sustainability for a world designed to last. About the mission
we offer
you: Within the Industrial Safety department, you will join the HSE Design (Health, Safety, Environment in Design) team—composed of Industrial Safety, Risk Quantification, and Environment & Health engineers—to develop a digital tool for calculating fire water demand. Your primary points of contact will be the HSE Design team, as well as other Technip Energies disciplines such as Digiteam. As part of its digital transformation, the HSED department is developing HSIP (HSED Safety Intelligence Platform), a platform designed to modernize the safety engineering methods used on T.
EN’s industrial projects. A first application: calculating fire protection requirements HSIP will automate the calculation of fire water and foam concentrate requirements based on technical data, while organizing the information and engineering deliverables. Architecture and Scalability The solution will replace Excel tools with a Python algorithm, a centralized database, and a dedicated interface, all of which are scalable to incorporate artificial intelligence capabilities. Your Contribution Working with domain experts, you will help define functional requirements in accordance with calculation rules, as well as contribute to the design, development, and validation of the application. As an intern, your various responsibilities will include:
• Formalizing calculation methods: analyzing existing tools and structuring business rules, assumptions, and necessary data.
• Developing the Python algorithm: implementing the algorithms in a modular architecture and validating the results using tests and benchmark calculations.
• Structure industrial data: design the data model for equipment, protective systems, fire zones, and scenarios; develop import and validation mechanisms.
• Automate calculations and deliverables: generate scenarios according to defined rules, present the results, and produce reports.
• Develop the application: create an interface accessible to engineering teams and prepare data exchanges with their databases and hydraulic calculation and simulation tools. Depending on the project’s progress, additional work may include the spatial analysis of equipment requiring protection or cooling with firefighting water within the 3D model, as well as data preparation for future artificial intelligence applications. These activities will remain optional and will depend on the project’s needs and the time available. Starting Date: February or March 2027 Duration : 6 months About you: We love to hear from you and how you match with this position. To be successful in this mission you should consider the following
requirements:
• A student in the final year of an engineering school program or a Master’s 2 program in computer science, software engineering, data engineering, or a program combining digital technology and industry (Télécom Paris, CentraleSupélec, Paris-Saclay, ENSAE Paris, ESIEE Paris, ESIEA, EFREI, UTC, INSA Lyon, IMT Atlantique, IMT Nord Europe).
• You are proficient in Python and have a solid foundation in algorithms, databases, and data analysis. You demonstrate attention to detail, the ability to synthesize information, and an interest in industrial applications.
• Knowledge of SQL, Git, REST APIs, web development (Streamlit, Dash, React, or Django), and cloud technologies (Azure and the Microsoft ecosystem) used by Technip Energies is a plus.
• A very good command of English is required, as the application will be used by T.
EN’s multicultural teams.
• You are motivated, and we recognize your ability to work independently, your proactivity, dynamism, attention to detail, and strong team spirit. You have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• No prior knowledge of process safety or fire protection is required. What This Internship Will Offer You You will contribute to an application that addresses a concrete industrial need, while developing your skills in software engineering, data engineering, and industrial safety, working alongside HSED specialists. Your career with us Working at Technip Energies is an inspiring journey, filled with groundbreaking projects and dynamic collaborations. Surrounded by diverse and talented individuals, you will feel welcomed, respected, and engaged. Enjoy a safe, caring environment where you can spark new ideas, reimagine the future, and lead change.
