Company Overview Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. Start your career with the Strategic Student Program (SSP) The Strategic Student Program is our formal internship program globally. You will be mentored by guides and gain invaluable professional experience. At Siemens, SSP interns get access to an international student network and community, career development opportunities with professional growth pathways, comprehensive practical training throughout the program, access to the Siemens Learning Hub and other training materials, and the opportunity to collaborate on exciting projects within a global, diverse team.  Topic: From Simulation to AI-Powered Applications. Position Overview How can complex simulation models be transformed into intelligent engineering applications that can be used by non-experts? Engineering simulation models embed valuable domain expertise, but their complexity often limits adoption to simulation specialists. At the same time, recent advances in Generative AI are creating new opportunities to automatically build tailored engineering applications around existing simulation assets. The objective of this internship is to explore how Simcenter Amesim models can be transformed into AI-assisted engineering applications running on the next platform generation. You will investigate how AI agents can:
• Automatically prepare and adapt simulation models for application deployment.
• Generate customized engineering workflows and user experiences.
• Extend platform capabilities through reusable application components.
• Convert existing Amesim Apps into modern web-based engineering applications. During this 6-month internship, you will work at the intersection of simulation, Generative AI, agentic systems, full-stack development, and digital engineering. You will join the Simcenter Amesim Product Development team in Lyon, France and collaborate with experts in simulation technologies, AI-assisted engineering, and next-generation engineering platforms. The outcome of this work may directly contribute to future product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
1. AI-Assisted Model Preparation Simulation models often need to satisfy a set of architectural and modeling rules before they can be deployed. You will:
• Analyze compatibility requirements between Simcenter Amesim models and the platform.
• Design AI-assisted workflows capable of detecting non-compliant model elements.
• Develop remediation strategies to automatically transform and prepare models for execution.
• Explore how LLMs and agents can generate model adaptation plans and automate compliance corrections.
• Evaluate the reliability, traceability, and limitations of AI-assisted model preparation. 2. AI-Generated Engineering Extensions The next-generation engineering platform relies on reusable extension points that can be combined to create tailored engineering applications. You will:
• Design and implement custom extension points for engineering workflows.
• Explore application domains such as:
• Model parametrization
• Variant generation
• Design-space exploration
• Results visualization
• Reporting and analytics
• Define mechanisms for packaging, deploying, registering, and distributing custom extensions.
• Investigate how LLMs and AI agents can automatically generate extension implementations from functional requirements and engineering intents.
• Develop reusable AI-generated application building blocks, including forms, dashboards, visualizations, and workflow components. 3. AI-Assisted Migration of Engineering Applications Numerous engineering applications already exist within Amesim and represent valuable engineering know-how. You will:
• Analyze existing Amesim Apps and their architecture.
• Identify compatibility constraints with the platform.
• Port selected applications from PySide desktop interfaces to modern web-based user interfaces.
• Detect application behaviors that are incompatible with platform execution constraints.
• Define migration guidelines and reusable migration patterns.
• Explore how LLMs and AI agents can assist application understanding, code transformation, UI modernization, and migration planning.
• Evaluate the feasibility of automatically generating portions of migrated applications from existing implementations. This 6-month internship is based in Villeurbanne, near Lyon (69), and starts from January 2027. Qualifications You are currently pursuing a master's degree (BAC+5) in Software engineering in France:
• Full-stack programming skills (Python, Golang and JavaScript (React)).
• Experience with web technologies and application development.
• Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, or AI-assisted software development.
• Interest in simulation, digital engineering, MBSE, or digital twins.
• Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to explore innovative concepts.
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in an international environment.
• Fluent in English. Appreciated
• Knowledge of Simcenter Amesim or other simulation platforms.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, or Generative AI frameworks.
• Familiarity with data visualization and analytics.
• Understanding of systems engineering, MBSE, or digital twin concepts. Why Us At Siemens Software, flexibility is how we work—hybrid by default, built on trust and autonomy.
